Traveler Reviews on Perth and Kinross

Yann's

Dec 2, 2008

I had a wonderful weekend at Yann's in November 2008 with a group of friends and our children. The rooms were very comfortable and very tastefully decorated, and the owners made us feel completely at home. Our children are 1 and 3 years old and have various food allergies which often makes eating out a bit of a problem, but... more

Pitlochry Hydro Hotel

Dec 2, 2008

I can only describe the hotel as a building site and at no time were we informed of this. We were looking forward to an enjoyableand relaxing weekend but on arriving found painters trying to carry out works. We were informed by the reception staff that these works would be unobtrusive. Completely untrue as the smell of paint was over-whelming,... more

Thank you so much to all the staff at Scotland's Hotel - we are just back from a wonderful 2-night break in this Hotel. The staff did so much to make this a memorable and enjoyable visit to Pitlochry. The reception staff were friendly and efficient, providing useful information on local events and attractions. The restaurant staff, particularly Magdalena, were... more

Port-na-Craig Inn

Dec 2, 2008

...at this restaurant. It was quite quiet the evening I visited, but could imagine a good atmosphere when a bit busier. Good value 2 course option and service attentive, but not intrusive. Apparently this established will close between mid December and mid February, which seems a pity as they could do a good trade over the Christmas and New Year... more

Beinn Bhracaigh

Dec 2, 2008

This is a well run establishment, where comfort and customer service are are top priorities for the owners. Nothing was too much effort to ensure we were well catered for, including booking restaurants, personally chauffeured and taxis arranged. Both Ann and Alf show the way as regards a high standard of Scottish hospitality, which makes Beinn Bhracaigh stand out from... more

This was a short break to celebrate an anniversary & was for my wife to revisit a hotel where she had worked on her student vacation 49 years before. The hotel filled the bill perfectly. Comfortable, if anything a bit too warm as we did not need our room radiator on, and relaxing with very pleasant service. Dinner was not... more

Excellent break away in the Scottish highlands. The lodge was everything it said it would be and more. The location was great, scenery brilliant. The walks in the area were brilliant, and plenty of wild life to see. Would definately stay at the lodge again and would recommend it to anyone looking for an ideal break away. more

Knock Castle is fantastic. We went for a night away and for peace and quiet and it was just excellent. The hotel is under refurbisment. We did not see or hear anything from the work going on so it did not bother us at all. We were in a refurbished room The Lady Mary Suite. The suite was very big... more

We arrived on the Saturday and got a lovely welcome from the cheery receptionist who showed us round the place before heading to our room. The fire was on in reception and it was a nice setting to arrive to, especially as it was minus five degrees outside! The room was clean and comfortable but on the smallish side -... more

We thought the Rose Apartment was absolutely fabulous. The location in the city with views of the river Tay and central for the shops superb. Wish I had taken a photo of the 4 flights of winding stairs to the apartment, on returning I have checked all web-sites and can see no mention of these stairs! So if you are... more

I have to confess that I had doubts about booking this hotel after reading some of the reviews. But I am a big believer in go and find out for yourself and I am so glad I did. Our stay was faultless. We were celebrating our second wedding anniversary and booked a night in one of the rondawels with tasting... more

We spent 5 days at this hotel last week. It was excellent and we thoroughy enjoyed our time there. The hotel is clean and the food is excellent - the portions very generous. The staff are very helpful and courteous and we could not find fault with anything. The hotel is about 250 years old so no mod-cons but it has... more

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights earlier this month whilst house hunting in the area. We had been lucky enough to be allocated an executive room by Marc and were not dissapointed. The room was large ,excellently decorated and the bathroom and shower were excellent. We were on a DBB rate and I have to say it was... more

Fabulous views and a very warm reception at the bar, we sampled the steak pie and it was delicious. The new owners (the Harrisons) could not have been more welcoming and have big plans for this hotel. Location, location, location....... We will definitely be back to see all the changes in the new year and try out the new upstairs... more

My wife and I stayed at the Ardeonaig Hotel on 7th and 8th November. As my wife is eight months pregnant this was to be our last weekend away as a twosome and we were looking forward to spoiling ourselves. We stayed in one of the Rondawels in the grounds of the hotel, which was cosy enough but quite expensive... more

Knockendarroch House

We had stayed at this hotel several years ago and it was very nice. This being the case, I decided that it would be a good place for a family gathering to celebrate my 60th Birthday, in April 2008. When I called to arrange the booking I was told that the Hotel had changed ownership. This is always a concern,... more

Bridge of Cally Hotel

Won a nights dinner, bed & breakfast as the result of a raffle ticket and what a prize it was! This is a fantastic place, the hospitality and service were second to none, the rooms were spotlessly clean and the food was amazing. Nothing was too much bother and we will definitely return. If you want to get away from... more

The Macdonald Loch Rannoch Hotel is situated in the very small village of Kinloch Rannoch set on the banks of Loch Rannoch and is around 20 miles outside of the small town of Pitlochry and the City of Perth is about 45 miles away. Kinloch Rannoch really is in the middle of nowhere so as you can imagine the road... more

The view from the road to the castle, especially at night is very impressive, the hotel sits in a lovely setting and looks really grand from the outside, the problems start when you get inside. The check in was ok, we were even offered a Drambuie to welcome you to our hotel. All the real fires were lit, so it gave... more
