Stayed 2 nights late May/08. Arrived in town without reservations, but found one room available at the Krone. Very friendly hosts (restaurant they run is a bit pricey in comparison), room was very clean, very quiet, with large modern bathroom, and very central in this quaint village. Firstly one must state that the pretty small town of Staufen is a lovely place to stay. But I fear we could not recommend this hotel for a very curious reason! Have just returned from 10 days at this lovely small hotel. The hosts Herr & Frau Lahn and family could not be more courteous and friendly. They obviously take great pride in their service. They even provided a kettle when I mentionefd how much we English like our morning tea. We were provided with a free Black Forest transport pass... more
