Bull Frog Inn

The Bullfrog will always be a vivid memory for me. Belize is a small country and Belmopan is the world's smallest national capital (by popluation). So, it makes sense that there isn't much of a market for 5 star hotels. The best I can say it that it was adequate. It is an old motel that desperately needs updating. The... more

My husband and I stayed with a seven day package and had a great time. We had a bungalow #15 but it was next to the road. They were planning on changing the road situation when were were there. Bungalow was really nice and very clean; it had two showers one inside and one outside. You are in the jungle... more

This place was AWESOME! The adventures are well planned and full of fun. My husband and I especially enjoyed the waterfall hike. Just wait to until you get there to book your adventures that way you can talk to other travelers. We stayed for four nights and we wished we booked it for longer. Only issue was the website didn't... more

We stayed at the jungle dome for 5 days in early August. I relied heavily on reviews from Tripadvisor when looking for places to stay in Belize for my honeymoon. We were not disappointed! The jungle dome, albeit a little way off the main road (as all things seem to be in Belize) was well worth it. The second we... more

We did the 3-night package and stayed in one of their treehouse suites. The room was excellent, and pretty high class considering you're in the jungle. I would recommend spending the extra money for the treehouse. Comfort has extra value after a day in the jungle. Meals are family style, which is great. We met some wonderful people, and the... more

Yim Saan Hotel & Restaurant

There aren't too many hotel options in Belmopan so I suppose Yim Saan isn't so bad even though it reminds me of a motel 8. The rooms were reasonably clean and the A/C works fine. The beds were a bit uncomfortable. The hotel is relatively new. We paid $55 USD/night for 2 double beds with private bathroom and private balcony.... more

The adventures were great and the guides were fantastic! We weren't prepared for the "summer camp" experience though. We paid a lot of money to stay in a nice unit, but found the front area staff to not be very friendly or accommodating. We really did love meeting new people at dinner and on the excursions, but we felt like... more

Belize Jungle Dome

I travel for a living and have been to over 20 countries around the world. As a result, I have stayed in all different kinds of resorts, hotels and bed and breakfasts. Belize Jungle Dome was by far one of the best places I have ever stayed. The food was excellent and the property is gorgeous and well maintained. What... more

Imagine a place of adventure . . . . . . where you live in a cabana tucked away in the jungle, climb underground waterfalls in the pitch blackness of the deepest caves, and hike through the jungle to rappel down a cliff face - suspended hundreds of feet over the rain forest canopy . . . . . .... more

This caving excursion is for the ultimate caver. This cave is only accessible by via tour companies. We went with Hun Chi'ik Tours from San Igancio. The cave takes expert cavers about 3 hours to tour and inexperienced cavers 6 hours. Althought it is a very technical cave to climb, so I only recommend the experience cavers to go. Since... more

bananabankheights summed it up quite well but I'll add my two cents. Kathy and Bob (and their boys) are incredibly charming and helpful; there aren't enough superlatives to underscore how highly we think of them. Their friendliness sets the standard, outstanding service is the "cherry on top" but the food takes it to a whole new level. One parting thought:... more

The hotel is very old and desperately in need of renovation but it's really your only option in Belmopan. The restaurant is descent and the people are friendly. I wouldn't recommend for anything other than a business trip (which is probably the only reason you go to Belmopan.) more

My boyfriend and I took a cab to Caves Branch. We attempted to take the bus, but when we got to the bus station, we found out it would be a 2 hour wait for the next bus, and we just wanted to get there by dinner time. We later took the bus back. It's pretty easy actually and not... more

As a frequent travellor and property investor in Belize I get around the country more than most, by car, by boat and by plane, I need my rest too. When I am in Belmopan, Cayo on business or pleasure I alway stay with Kathy and Bob at the Super Palm Resort, I always look for value for money being a... more

This destination is not for everyone -- and that's just the way we liked it! The daytime adventures were exciting and educational. The staff and guides were friendly, knowledgeable and fun. This is best for those who like to be active (days are spent rafting, caving, hiking, rappelling, etc), like nature (because you'll be sleeping and sometimes showering in it),... more

I just got back from Banana Bank and was totally amazed at everything. There were 3 girls that went and we felt totally safe! My husband and I stayed at the Jungle dome for six nights in June 2008. We honestly enjoyed everything about our stay. Our room was spacious, the food delicous (both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian), and the activities fabulous. One thing we really appreciated was the flexibility of being able to customize our itinerary instead of having to do one of... more

When we first arrived at the Dome we weren't sure what to expect. It was somewhat out of the way and this made us worry about what we would during down time (like we had any). But after being there about 2 minutes any worry or concern we had quickly melted away. And that's not because it was incredible hot... more

My grandson and I came to Belize on our annual "quest for adventure" and we were well pleased. The Jungle Dome met and exceeded expectations. Our room was generous in size, clean, and attractive. We felt quite at home during our 5 night stay. The adventures, booked through the hotel, although safe, seemed pretty exciting to me, and my grandson... more
