I echo what so many others have said about Hickatee. It is a wonderful place--Ian and Kate have clearly put so much of themselves into making it so lovely. Machaca Hill Lodge at Laughing Falcon Reserve

My wife and I were looking for a honeymoon spot that wasn't super touristy, had 5 star service, and had an environmental bent. Machaca Hill is on the edge of a 30,000 acres nature preserve, and is basically tucked into the canopy of the rainforest. In August, we (a couple from Amsterdam and 17 year old son) spent half a week at Hickatee. And it was too short. Our expectations were very high, due to the enthousiastic reviews we read, but Hickatee didn't disappoint us. The cottages in the jungle garden are very nice. Beautiful floors!
