Simeon's On the Commons

5 of 5 stars
Aurora, NY
Nov 27, 2008

My fiance and I wandered around the commons in Ithaca one night searching for a place to eat. Lucky for us we chose Simeons. There was actually somebody waiting for us at the door to seat us upon watching us navigate the menu outside, nice to know they want our business. Our server, Brenda (?) was GREAT, it was only... more

Hampton Inn Ithaca

Just stopped in for a visit with family. Very polite staff. Very clean and well appointed room. Breakfast was more than sufficient. Watched the Bills win in a comfortable lobby with plenty of coffee. No reason not to return to this hotel. more

Statler Hotel at Cornell

Nov 24, 2008

Wow, I understand why Cornell is known as the 'hotel ivy league'. The staff was flawless and the food, so good. I really enjoyed my meeting there. The hotel is right in the middle of everything, so I felt as if I was back in college while there. Also side note, make sure you ask for a view of the... more

Super 8 Ithaca

Nov 23, 2008

I loved our recent stay at the Super 8 in Ithaca! The staff was wonderful and the hotel was very clean. The positive reviews on tripadvisor were right! It is right in the city, so it was very close to everything. My daughter was visiting Ithaca College and it was very close. The clerks had maps and directions. There was... more

Willow

Nov 19, 2008

Last week my husband and I had the pleasure of dining at Willow. It was one our best meals in recent history. Chef Sean O'brien's seasonal menu features ingredients not often seen in an Ithaca restaurant - strawberry grouper, yucca... He uses these components in ways that are exciting, sometimes surprising and always delicious. The elements of the carefully constructed... more

Antlers

5 of 5 stars
Ithaca, NY
Nov 17, 2008

For a casual dinner out, the Antlers is always our first choice. It has a warm, comfortable feel, good food, good service, and reasonable prices. Usually one of the two owners is on hand to seat you, and to keep an eye on business with grace and good humor. Ithaca is loaded with good restaurants of almost any focus, but... more

The Inn @ City Lights

5 of 5 stars
Elizabethtown, PA
Nov 10, 2008

This was our second visit to City Lights and I can't say enough of wonderful things about this B&B. We stayed in the North Suite this past visit and last time we stayed in Granny's room...both were very nice. Colleen and Evan are the best hosts you could ask for...they are so helpful and really make you feel welcome. The... more

New Delhi Diamond's Restaurant

Nov 10, 2008

I am surprised to see so many bad reviews about the food. There is no doubt that the service totally stinks but the food made up for it. The place can't be that bad because it was booming! There were no seats available and people were waiting out the door. We had chicken biryani, chicken curry, chapati and a lamb... more

Dijon

Nov 9, 2008

The Dijon is quite good and in fact the chicken is excellent and salad is also great. It is pricey amd is in poor location, but we enjoyed the meals we have had there. I have to defend them as we had good service and the quality of food has been good. more

Grayhaven Motel

5 of 5 stars
Lockport, NY
Nov 8, 2008

I couldn't have asked for a better experience. As I was traveling with three dogs, I thought finding a place to stay might be a problem. Not so! The Grayhaven is dog-friendly and even has a great exercise area/agility course, is close to everything-food, shopping, and it is about two minutes away from the beautiful Buttermilk Falls State Park. It... more

Pangea

Nov 7, 2008

I've been trying out a lot of the nice restaurants in Ithaca, and Pangea is basically the "fanciest" one I've been to so far. The atmosphere is nice and warm, dark and a little cramped. Our waitress was definitely courteous. The food is expensive, most of the entrees being over 20$. You can get smaller portions for cheaper, but I... more

ZA Za's Cucina

Nov 6, 2008

My husband and I go to Za Za's frequently (it's on our list of top Ithaca restaurants). We are never, ever disappointed. Their eggplant parmesan is luscious, pasta is fresh, and I've always found the seafood to be excellent. The seafood stew is superb. The wait staff are very friendly and informative - ask them about a dish and they... more

Pangea

Nov 6, 2008

I used to love to go to Pangea, especially during the summer when we could eat on the patio. However, last night's experience was not good. They weren't serving some items, they were out of some wines. The selections were pretty minimal. My husband opted for the steak and got a tiny cut of meat for $28!!! He ordered it... more

Veralma 1850 House Bed and Breakfast

4 of 5 stars
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Nov 5, 2008

The Veralma is in close proximity to Ithaca College and within walking distance of downtown Ithaca. The rooms were clean and spacious and the service was excellent. Breakfast is made to order (waffles, eggs, oatmeal, etc.) and was VERY good. The inn keepers are very friendly and gracious hosts. more

Fineline Bistro

Nov 5, 2008

What a Great surprise. Every aspect of our experience at Fineline Bistro was exceptional. Seated right at our reservation time. Attentive wait staff. Appropriate spacing between tables. Now---the food....well prepared and delicious. Unfortunately, we did not have time to enjoy the deserts, perhaps next time! more

ABC Cafe

Nov 4, 2008

Was a wonderful surprise. We ate at the famed Moosewood the night before and thought it was ok, though a little pricey and that the food was somewhat ordinary, though good. ABC was so good that we returned for dinner on the way out of town a few hours after having had brunch there. Staff are friendly, helpful, and very... more

Nov 4, 2008

We stayed at the Inn on Columbia for our honeymoon. It was very easy to book online and Madeline was accessible via email. We stayed with our two dogs and found that the b & b was very pet friendly! We also stayed in the room in the main house which we found clean, comfortable, quiet, and safe. When we... more

The first time we attempted to show up, they turned us away because they were too busy (despite the fact that only 4 tables were filled). We should have taken the cue that they were awful, because when we returned we found the service to be unworthy of the price and the food to be unfit for consumption. Both the... more
