The location of the hotel was good, but overall service was poor. On arrival one of the beds was unmade and when we asked at the reception we were handed the linen to make the bed ourselves! After the first night we noticed water dripping from the door frame leading to the bathroom. This had soaked a shirt left hanging... more

Oh dear. How in the world did this hotel earn 4 stars? We stayed here for two nights, for a family party prior to a trip to Dublin, and were glad to leave. It is one of those places that uses the excuse 'historic' in order to get away with being run down and neglected. It needs a thorough clean... more

My partner and I booked into the Bull for two nights as part of a tour of Wales. When we arrived there was a skip in the carpark filled with loft insulation. The reception area was dirty and cluttered - there must have obviously been a delivery of somesort that had not been dealt with. The room was situated at... more

Not much to write home about, room was ok but a little bit worn, food was decent pub far but the ting of a microwave was pretty obvious but the staff were very nice. Worse thing about the stay was the fact that I had no hot water in the mroning and so had to trapse outside to take a... more

This review is based on staying for 2 nights with my family. Overall we were very disappointed with the experience we had at the hotel and for the cost (£250 per night) we expected a great deal more. Whilst the hotel says it welcomes families it clearly does not. First the 'family' interconnecting rooms are well away from the main... more

The hotel and the room we stayed in were lovely and tastefully furnished, it was very cheap for what they boast, though I now understand why. Llangefni itself looks a very beautiful postcard town but looks are very deceiving. We found the locals to be rude and unwelcoming in the local pubs, they took delight in finding amusement at our... more

I spend a lot of time in North Wales with my job so always looking for a decent hotel to stay in that doesn't break my charities budget. First time at the Bull which wasn't bad. I had a courtyard room which was great but for a single female didn't have the security of the hotel front door. However when... more

We really enjoyed a relaxing 2 night spa break at this hotel. There was a wedding on when we arrived but this did not interfere with our stay. Indeed, we received an upgraded room with jacuzzi at no additional charge. Service was excellent and the food of the highest standard. The spa facilities were modern and well staffed. more

Don't go near the place, it is dreadful. Probably the worst place my family and i have ever stayed in. Who on earth gave this place 4 stars, if it's the WTB then they should be ashamed of themselves for misleading the public. I wouldn't even give it a rating, I would take them off the books until they do... more

Very quaint, they cannot do enough to make you feel welcome. After a long day on the road carried my bags, making sure that I was fed and watered via room service. Highly recommend. more

I stayed at the Bull after reading the reviews. I have visited Anglesey for work many times and have never found a hotel I like. I have now! The Bull is easy to find, in the middle of Llangefni. The hotel car park is adequate and is next to the town centre car park (free after 6pm). The reception is... more

Working for an American company as a Service engineer means I get about a lot and stay in many nice hotels around the world, but i can honestly say that my short stay at Tre-ysgawen hall on the Island of Anglesea was one of the most enjoyable ever. The hotel is very beautiful and the surrounding area extremely scenic and... more

While on business in the area I have stayed at the Bull many times in the past year, and I have always found the hotel consistantly first class in all aspects. All the well-equipped rooms have now been modernised to a very high standard, and the en-suite bathrooms are excellent with showers that work really well with good pressure. The... more

I stay in many hotels with business but none as pleasing as Tre-Ysgawen Hall, the tranquil approach set my mood for the weekend stay. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a great find - my wife and I were in North Wales for the weekend and needed a good central location, so we could make the most of our stay. The Bull Hotel didn't dissappoint!! I stay in hotels extensively as part of my job, sometimes it can be a tedious experience, sometimes downright awful, but occasionally delightful. Tre Ysgawen hall is one of those delightful stays, not common, but wonderful to experience. The building is a classic country manor, beautiful, sympathetically restored and well manitained. The food was excellent and the spa facilities were... more

A historic building in the middle of a traditional market town Llangefni. Refurbished and offering accommodation and dining / pub facilities. Good food. The perfect antidote to a boring hotel I was staying in. Lively humorous characters making us feel welcome by the locals on our visit to Anglesey. more
