Chinaberry Hill - An 1889 Victorian Inn and Cottage

5 of 5 stars
California
Nov 29, 2008

This B&B has fabulous breakfasts, 19th century charm, and up-to-date bedding, internet access, cable, off street parking, jazz in the period parlor. Wonderful coffee, ground with a state of the art burr grinder, great restaurant recommendations, a wonderful view of the Sound. My living quarters, upstairs in the carriage house, consisted of a little parlor, the bedroom, a quaint walk-in... more

The Hotel Murano was beautiful to say the least. The rooms and decor was very modern. The staff was very helpful and everything was very clean. It is a short walk to several resturants and about 20 min to Seattle. My husband and I were there to see my favorite group (NKOTB) for a concert at the Tacoma Dome which... more

Lakewood Travelodge

I stayed at this Travelodge in Tacoma, WA for one night. I was attending a concert (the fabulous NKOTB tour) with my sister and we had to find an "inexpensive" place that was close to the Tacoma Dome. This place fit the bill. Here's a bit of what to expect if you choose to stay here. 1. It is a... more

Best Western Tacoma Dome

I found this hotel on the good reviews of TripAdvisor, and I wasn't disappointed at all! It was a four day stay and I was VERY impressed with the overall value for how nice the property is and the quite decent buffet style continental breakfast. The property was bright, modern, and cheerful. The only small complaint I have is that... more

We were seated right away, it took a bit to get chips & salsa (there were four other tables not including us)...the waitress was kind and doing her best. We ordered the 'bean dip' expecting to be given dip made of beans. The menu simply listed bean dip. No other description. Below it was another item, 'bean & beef dip'.... more

Woody's on the Water

Nov 20, 2008

My husband and I visited Woody's on a Wednesday in October of 2008. This used to be a very elegant Martini ice Bar. We ordered drinks, my husband a beer and myself a lemon drop. Unfortunately there was both sugar and salt mixed along the rim of the lemon drop. Usually this drink is served with sugar. This place has... more

We were visting Tacoma with our kids to see the Tacoma Glass Museum and for an excuse to take the train out of town. The hotel rate of $139 was low enough to make me concerned that the hotel would not be great. Nevertheless, we had seen the good reviews and so we took a chance. We got adjoining rooms... more

Before you read this, and feel I’m being a whiner, I do want to note that I travel quite a bit for work, and have the opportunity to eat at some fantastic restaurants. Sushi is by far my favorite, and I try to eat at a new Sushi restaurant every time I am “on the road”. I’ve had some not... more

Holiday Inn Express Tacoma

Nov 15, 2008

A typically average Holiday Inn Express, but in a convenient location just off the I-5. The room was a decent size and comfortable with a view over an adjoining gas station. There is no restaurant, but the hotel is close to a range of other nearby restaurants and small shops. The breakfast was complimentary and a decent choice including a... more

Best Western Tacoma Dome

Nov 12, 2008

The Best Western Tacoma Dome is easy to find--right across from the Dome itself. The room was a bit small, but adequate for the three of us. We were visiting colleges, and the location very convenient to U Puget Sound. There was a recurring problem with key cards erasing themselves. Breakfast was very good as described by others. more

La Quinta Inn Seattle Tacoma

We attended a wedding rehearsal dinner catered by the restaurant, stayed two nights at the hotel along with several other family members and wedding attendees, and had a great time. The room was clean and very spacious. The bed was very comfortable and the heating/air conditioning unit worked fine. We had a room on the 7th floor that faced the... more

Extended StayAmerica Tacoma-South

If you want to punish someone send them here. The bad experience did not end with the dark prison like hallways or the squeaky rock that was my bed. The toilet would not flush in the morning so i notified the front desk and left for my meetings that day. When I returned that evening the toilet was still broke,... more

I only had the opportunity to stay at the Hotel Murano one night but wish I would have been there longer. The hotel was beautiful with art throughout on every floor. We went to Tacoma to visit the Glass Museum and were absolutely delighted with our stay at the Hotel Murano where we were able to continue our exploration of glass art in the hotel's public spaces. Our room was so elegantly designed, included Aveda toiletries, and offered a clear view of Mt. Ranier! It was easy to catch a free... more

Wherever we go, we always find ourselves comparing our experiences to what we get when we stay at Chinaberry Hill (this is our third visit). Beautiful rooms (the beds are super comfy!), fun décor (if you like both opulent and quirky, this is the place for you), easily the best breakfasts we’ve had anywhere – and awesome hosts. You know... more

We stayed at the Plum Duff Bed & Breakfast while visiting our daughter at the University of Puget Sound. It’s been twenty years since we have stayed at a B&B but chose this due to its proximity to the campus. What a wonderful experience. Asado Cucina Argentina

Busy contemporary and somewhat loud place with excellent food. Not Italian as listed, but Argentinian. Great steaks and sides along with appetizers and good happy hour prices - try the steak skewer with a side of butter beans - not expensive and just the right size for a small dinner. Good wine choices and some of the most personable bartenders... more
