For years when we visit Wenatchee we would love to go to the Windmill for a steak. Years past we would sometimes have to eat elsewhere because the wait was just too long. We were seated right away this visit (should of been our first clue) overly friendly waitress put some un-appealing dry bread sticks on our table as we... more
From the outside this looks like a motel or inexpensive hotel. But I was surprised to find that my room was large, comfortable, clean and quiet and the breakfast was very good. This isn't a luxurious place but it's not bad either. It has an exercise room that's small but just fine and I never saw the pool but there... more
I dialed this Travelodge, when I thought I was dialing another hotel in Wenatchee. When I discovered my mistake, this Wenatchee Travelodge refused to remove the charge on my credit card for an unused night's stay. While I accept responsibility for the mis-dialed phone number, I don't accept the unforgiving policy of this money-grubbing Travelodge. Travelers beware. more
We booked 2 rooms from Oct 8-13, 2008 and were very pleased with the room, staff and restaurant. The room is a typical Red Lion room, large with a sliding glass door, balcony, desk, reading chair, dual vanities, large closet, fridge and coffee maker. The staff from the front desk to the cleaners to the restaurant and bar were all... more
My boyfriend and I recently stayed at the Inn and did not have the greatest experience. First I am a light sleeper and I wasn't aware that there were train tracks right out side of our window. About every hour throughout the night the train would pass by and whistle it's horn. Then at about 5 am, I felt something... more
My wife and I "settled" for this place when we found that the restaurant we wanted to visit had closed down. The atmosphere was rustic and the restaurant was very clean. We both had the ribs and have to say they were the best we'd ever had...the service was attentive and we did not have to wait much at around... more
As a Leavenworth local I have been to the Applewood many times, some good some not so great and have definitely heard some horror stories. I have to say, however, that I have seen a remarkable improvement in the recent past, fresh new staff and much more timely service. I had almost given up but was glad I didn't, I... more
Excellent Mexican fare at great prices!! Noisy and busy family restaurant with fast service. The complimentary chips and salsa to start out with are great. Large portions. But the final touch is the complimentary tortilla chip with whipped cream. Its just that hint of sweet taste you need at the end of a meal. Keep up the good work, I'm... more
Very good food--the chicken masala almost melted in my mouth. Its a little pricey, but service was good as well. I will go back the next time I'm in the area. more
Looked for a hotel on day of trip, needed two queens or a king and roll-away as I was traveling with my wife and teen daughter. We were just over-nighting in Wenatchee, WA, hoping to see a little of the city and then move on to the Gingko Petrified Forest State Park before rolling down to Yakima. The Econo Lodge... more
This has been my favorite place to eat since 1952 because they use real mayo and lots of it. They also have veggie burgers, which, as a vegetarian, I appreciate. There are two other 50's style drive-ins in town. One opened recently and one in the 90's. Dusty's is the best and the food is authentic! In an annual newspaper... more
It was not too sketchy for the price... we just used it as a place to sleep in between connections.. ok breakfast and the lady at the front desk was hard to understand but nice enough. Wouldn't stay more than one night here. more
I'm sorry you missed our charming museum. It's definately worth a visit. The museum already has a free admission day the first Friday of the month. It is not hard to find at all, as it is located in the heart of Wenatchee on 127 South Mission Street, which is the one-way street just one block west of Wenatchee Avenue,... more
Red Lions are usually reliably decent, and this one is not an exception. Clean, reasonably appointed, this did all I needed while working in town for a week. The pool was clean, the hot tub very good, and the staff attentive and quick. Having the many food choices nearby was good too. All things considered, its a very good hotel. more
We stayed at this property on Saturday September 6th, 2008. Our group of 7 adults had three double rooms. All of our rooms were very clean, well maintained and equipped with all the standard amenities. The beds were comfortable and my room in the back of the property was quiet. They have both a exercise room and an indoor pool... more
Thick juicy steaks and the freshest Halibut I've had outside of Alaska. I don't know how they do it. Wonderful food and excellent service at a fraction of the cost of the windmill or shakti's. Keep up the good work more
3 night stay while seeing Dave Matthews Band at the Gorge. So first, about the hotel. It was what I expected, older, yet clean. The front desk was courtious, considering I had to keep visiting them to get towels since housekeeping didn't clean our room when we gone from 9 to about 2:30p.m. But really, that's ok. Our room was... more
I was a little excited about staying here because I have never stayed in a Red Lion before and I paid a little more than usual because I thought it was going to be very fancy. Well it wasn't so fancy and the house cleaning and my room disappointed me. I booked my room, two queens no smoking, on their... more
August 26, 2008 we arrived in Wenatchee by public transportation and our hosts at the IvyWild picked us up and provided transportation to a downtown restaurant and then picked us up after dinner at the restaurant and took us to the B&B. During the early evening we enjoyed a complimentary glass of wine on the attactive patio of the B&B... more
