Took the 4pm tour and it was very informative. Was disappointed that I couldn't take pictures inside the mansion. The grounds were very well landscaped. more

We recently visited the Hudson Valley area for the first time and dined at Twist in Hyde Park, NY. I'm happy to say it was a wonderful experience!!! My husband and I have lived in Hyde Park for 15+ years and that is how long we have been going to the diner The food is good and plentiful. Their waffles and pancakes are hard to beat. In fact, Tylor Florence from the Food Network said they have the best blueberry pancakes he ever tasted. As mentioned they have... more

American Bounty is outstanding; DeMedici not so much. Apple Pie Bakery is very affordable and has amazing pastries. It's totally worth the price for a special occasion! more

THE BEST PLACE TO EAT IN THE WORLD. It was featured on the food networks Diner Drive In and Dive. When i ordered the grilled cheese it took 10 bites to finish and the bacon was lean and plentyfull. The Eveready Diner has my GF favorites grilled cheese and makes it point to go there on our dates! more

Having spent an enjoyable weekend in Hyde Park last month I wanted to express my delight and appreciation for your wonderful restaurant. Were it not for the driving time, four hours at least from Buckingham Pennsylvania, I would be a regular diner there. The food was spectacular and the people were delightful. I must honestly say that the experience at... more

My wife and I spent an hour in the FDR Museum before the day's closing; we could have easily spent 2 hours. As another reviewer said - a great tribute to a great President. It has a very nice gift shop also. more

Ate at the Escoffier Restaurant (French) it was superb for food, service and ambiance! Not inexpensive but worth it. It has a view of the kitchen and the maitre'd gave us a briefing about the activities. The students are fun to talk with. Get reservations and arrive early and tour the facilities first. Wonderful experience. more

We only had a limited amount of time there, but the scenery was beautiful of the river and beyond. The grounds were very nice as well. I only was able to visit the main building, and it was a Friday, they were having a graduation ceremony, I got the idea from the brochure that they have a lot of them... more

FDR house and Presidential Library are a must see if you are close to the area. They are located in the same spot in beautiful Hyde Park. We spent the afternoon enjoying them and I could have spent more time. Make sure to watch the movie when you arrive. It is not very long and well done. Also sign up... more

Quality Inn, Hyde Park, NY Clean, very satisfactory accomodation While visiting the historic sites and museims in Hyde Park we spent 2 nights at the Quality Inn. We just spent a wonderful weekend at the Willows Bed & Breakfast in Hyde Park. The building is quaint and lovely and obviously lovingly cared for. We really liked that there were just two guest rooms, and our room, the Green Room, was great. Lee and Lisa, who own and run the Willows, were really attentive and friendly. We didn't... more

Last year my parents bought my daughters a National Park Passport so we visit National Parks anytime we are near one. This was amazing. We had a snack at the Apple Pie Café before going on a tour. It was sooo good we stopped the next morning to get snacks for the road. Everything is so pretty it was almost too hard to eat. I called the morning we wanted a tour and had no problem getting in. Check the website... more

We stayed at the Roosevelt Inn for three nights in August 2008. It was a good choice for our needs. The first night we stayed in the family suite which has a separate bedroom with two single beds. We changed to a regular room for the second two nights as it was $65 less. Both rooms were nice and clean.... more

My wife and I spent the weekend in Hyde Park and stayed two nights at the Roosevelt Inn. The room was comfortable and clean. The receptionist was very friendly and her dog, Mina, was adorable. The complimentary continental breakfast was quite good. The coffee was excellent and the varieties of bagels, cereals, pastries were quite satisfying. My wife noticed the... more

Le Petit Chateau Inn

The "chateau" is a joke (and a very expensive one at that)! See the earlier reviews by weedqueen and scubamom. They nailed it. We checked TripAdvisor before booking but failed to page back beyond the most recent 10 or so "reviews". There is NOTHING French about this inn except for a few 10-year-old magazines and books. The gentleman who helped... more
