Although we were booked at Luna Maya (see my review on that one), we opted to spend our first night in Tulum at Dos Ceibas. I can assure you, that if it weren't for the "no refund" policy at Luna Maya we would certainly have spent our entire stay at Dos Ceibas. We stayed in Mariposa (not sure if I... more

Our stay at Dos Ceibas was a success. It's on the best stretch of beach there is in Tulum, other than the part within the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve. We stayed two nights in Bungalow 8, Cocodrilo, the "budget" room. It was very nice and quite cool - we didn't need the fan even though we were there during a... more

I'm puzzled by some of the reviews here. My adult children and I had a wonderful time at Posada Dos Ceibas. Having stayed in a many a Marriott, Hilton, or Best Western, we were thrilled with the charm of this Yucatecan spot. This place was glorious, with little bungalows with thatched roofs, mosquito netting over the beds and beautiful bright... more

Stayed here for 3 nights in mid-Feb 2008. This is definitely the most beautiful and peaceful beach I've ever been on (wish I could've slept there). With the sand pathways that lead to restaurant and beach, you never need to wear shoes! However, I would affirm what another lodger at Bungalow Iguana said, horrible swinging bed (we had to prop... more

We are a family of two parents and twin 4 year-old boys. We highly recommend Dos Ceibas - the beach is spectacular, the bungalows are clean and well equipped, the restaurant is decent, and most important, the property is sufficiently large and laid back so that my wife and I could relax a little bit without worrying all the time... more

Dos Ceibas is great! We spent 2 nights in Bungalow Crocodrilo ($549 pesos/night). To all the other reviewers who complained about cockroaches, mosquitoes, not being able to drink the water and to throw toilet paper in the toilet: Welcome to Mexico guys...it's like that everywhere; maybe you should have stuck to the all-inclusives! The power is on from 7pm to... more

Usually, when I read over the top bad reviews on tripadvisor, I take it with a grain of salt. But this time I really don't know how else to describe my stay at Dos Ceibas. We stayed at Dos Ceibas over a weekend in Nov 2007. We had a terrible experience at Dos Ceibas. We paid around $100 for the... more

Let me say that the location is simply a dream place, a piece of heaven on earth and the rooms and the property itself are absolutely perfect for a pair who's looking for privacy, romance, atmosphere and love resurrection. BUT nevertheless we were deeply disappointed by the misleading info available on the web page of the hotel. the website should... more

During Ag we spent 4 days in this cabanas hotel. And we were stolen. When we arrived they told us that the only security box was the one on the reception so we left them cash in a closed envelope. We were fool and did not ask for receipt. When we were leaving we asked them for the envelope and... more

Despite the many mosquitoes, which aren't the fault of Dos Ceibas, this is a fantastic hotel. The buildings are lovely and charming, the staff was warm and friendly, and the location was unbeatable. Nice bit of beach, there. In case this isn't enough of a rave, the food is outstanding. We didn't eat anywhere else in Tulum while we were... more
