Thought the area was a bit rough. The hotel does not look as impressive in real life as it does in the brochures but if you like modern is still very nice. It is certainly quirky. It is very clean Reception staff were friendly (Milly in particular). Breakfast was excellent. Very convenient to the airport. Showed my parents and grand... more

The people working the front desk were nice and helpful but the General Manager of the restaurant within the hotel was one of the rudest people we encountered in Europe. On top of his lack of personality the food was over priced and i would have rather eaten a can of Chef Boyardee Ravioli than pay 20 Euros for 4... more

We stayed at the San Raniere for one night (2 Aug 08) and thought it was great. The 'dingy' corridors noted in earlier reviews seemed quite stylish to me. The walls/doors are covered in dark, glossy, monochromatic prints and the treatment is typical of many boutique hotels. The restaurant has limted choice (especially for vegetarians) and is unneccessarily expensive but... more

Our family of 3 adults and 2 children stayed here for 2 nights in Sept 2007. It is a modern hotel with unusual interior decoration, the most unusual of which being the rather odd darkened hallways. However the rooms are light and good quality with very comfortable bedding. The highlight of this hotel was the breakfast which is included. They... more

My wife, daughter and I stayed here for 2 nights from 23.07.08. I would not stay here again, even if I was paid to do so! 1. The corridor leading to the room was black and smelly/musty. Perhaps it was the carpet. Whatever it was, the corridor was pitch black with neon lights. The room was truly dreadful. The ceiling... more

I should start by saying that I do not recommend Pisa. My husband and I traveled with another couple, and we could not leave Pisa quickly enough. If you must stay the night in Pisa, I would recommend this hotel, however. The bed was comfortable and the women at the front desk were helpful. I will say that the decor... more

We stayed here for 5 nights, made our own way from the airport to the train station on the LAM Blue bus then another Lam Blu bus to the end of the hotel road, all for the cost of 2 euros! Buy a bus ticket at a tobac shop in station and validate ON the bus in yellow machine, tickets... more

far out from the city, get a car as the bust takes a long route in. hotel very modern, some features totally nonfunctional ( corridor doors looking like emergency exits), dark bathroom. noisy (shabby door and concrete floor and ceiling), especially if you have the misfortune to be by the door. complained and was promptly moved to a much better... more

Really nice hotel.. for really good value. We booked just a few days in advance and were pleasantly surprised. You would definitely need a car though if you were to use this as a base to visit Pisa. I was just staying overnight before taking a flight in the morning. Don't think there is any local metro / bus near... more

We stayed here for one night before setting off furher into Tuscany. Because we had booked very old hotels & villas in Sienna and Florence, we thought we'd have a contrast by staying at the ultra-modern San Ranieri. Contrast we wanted - contrast we got! Our room was reached via a dark corridor with red and black walls and blue... more
