We just returned from what was supposed to be a 4 night stay but turned into a 3 night stay. Let's start with the room - the bed in the room had an old, 4-6 inch mattress. It was so old that there was actually a crease down the length of it. We went to the local hardware store and... more

I had an enjoyable Labor Day Weekend here in 2006. The rooms were a little small, but they were charming. Very clean and the owners went out of their way to make the guests all feel at home. I'm trying to think of anything critical, but really cannot think of anything. more

We have just returned from our 17th stay at the Ampersand, and, as always, it was the perfect haven for a P-town vacation. Robert and Ken provide not only an architecturally beautiful house, but all the amenities to make one feel at home. The rooms are varied and comfortable, the homemade muffins and coffee are excellent at breakfast, where the... more

My partner and I have been returning to the Ampersand every summer for many years and are devoted to both the Guesthouse and our hosts, Ken and Robert. Our experience has always been one of comfortable, spotless rooms, hours spent on the deck reading, eating (addictive sandwiches from Relish), and looking at the endless bay views. Ken and Robert are... more

I have been coming to the Ampersand for over 12 years and would stay nowhere else. The house is a gem, a spectacular Cap Cod on a quiet street right off Commercial on the west side. The house has been beautifully maintained with a collector's rose garden in the back, espalied fruit trees and one of the best bonsai collections... more

First, the good: the Ampersand is clean, quiet, nicely located and reasonably priced. The garden is very beautiful. However: I found the atmosphere to be pretty unfriendly. The hosts are understandably proud of their historic home, and have a right to expect guests to treat it well, but if they're going to open it to paying guests, they need to... more

I agree with "Somewhat Disappointed"...the hosts were anything but friendly; the muffins were ok, but that's all you got; the rules were excessive and unbendable; the pictures on the website must have been taken 15 years ago. On the other hand, the rooms are clean and large; and the house is in a good, quiet location. more

Myself and my girlfriend spent the weekend at this Inn. We found the location ideal (close enough to town yet quiet.) The view from the room was refreshing as we could see the bay. The inn keepers were very friendly and helpful, the room was immaculate! I would recommend this inn and am looking forward to our next venture using... more

I have now stayed at the Ampersand twice and would highly recommend it to anyone. The hosts (Robert and Ken) are warm, friendly and full of good advice (they recommended a beautiful running path for me). The house itself is gorgeous -- an obvious amount of love and care have gone into designing and furninshing it. It's also convenient to... more

A group of us stayed at the Ampersand Guest House in April, 2005, and had a fabulous time. I highly and unequivocally recommend the Ampersand for your next stay. Make your reservation now, before they're all booked up! The house features a stunning mix of traditional antiques and modern minimalist furnishings, the owners' bonsai collection, and a lush rose garden.... more
