My family just got back from celebrating my father's 70th birthday at the Otesaga. While I have to say that I have stayed at a number of better places, the Otesaga did fit the bill for the occasion. If you accept it for what it is, you will be sure to have a delightful stay. The hotel is a very... more

Cooperstown has always been at the top of our places to visit. We love baseball and could not wait to visit the Hall of Fame. The Otesaga Resort is famous, so we splurged for its four star accommodations. Maybe its because I had built up the hotel in my mind, but I could not have been more disappointed. The location... more

Terrible service overall. Rude waitstaff and cleaning staff that apparently do not understand the term "service profession". We had lunch at the restaurant one afternoon and found the hostess to be very rude. Although we requested a table on the deck, we were told there weren't any available-- then spent an hour watching folks be seated there. We had to... more

After reading the previous reviews I was a bit apprehensive about spending the weekend at the Otesaga Hotel. My mother and I were staying there for mother's day weekend and wanted a relaxing, quiet getaway. I will address the positives first: I am not sure if there is a change in management since the last reviews, however we found the... more

After reading several of the other reviews, we were hesitant to stay at the Otesaga, but Cooperstown was a destination for us (the Baseball Hall of Fame - my son is a huge Red Sox fan) and frankly the Otesaga is the only large hotel in town so we thought we'd give it a try. It was nice, but... as... more

I attended a conference at the Otesaga. There is no doubt that the hotel is quite grand and very beautiful but the one thing that troubled me during my visit was how horribly cold the entire hotel was. Regardless of what floor we were on, it was down right frigid! Staff and guests alike were rubbing their hands together and... more

My visit to the Otesaga was part of a business trip. At that time there were a total of three organizations listed as having functions in the Hotel. The grounds were absolutely beautiful and the location perfect if you like walking a short distance to town. The lake is stunning, the pool was kept clean and the rooms are very... more

Our weekend at the Otesaga was a bit on the disappointing side, from the viewpoint of value for the dollar, as well as some service issues. The property's lakeside location was stunning, as well as convenient to downtown Cooperstown, if you are interested in baseball. (We were there for a soccer tournament.) It's really the only place to stay in... more

We just came back from the Otesaga (stayed June 16th) as a Father's Day present for my husband. What a relaxing place! We arrived early, they checked us in, and gave us a room upgrade (2 bedroom). We have 3 children and the additional space was nice. The service was terrific and everyone was so pleasant. We did not select... more

We spent four days in May 2007 at the Otesaga Resort as part of a group of vintage car drivers. The Otesaga is in a wonderful setting at the south end of Otsego Lake. The rooms are comfortable though not huge. The bed was very good and excellent toiletries were provided. The staff was unfailingly courteous and helpful. Unfortunately we... more
