My partner and I recently stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. Firstly when we arrived at reception, the staff were rude. The gentlemen seemed to find something strange about the fact that I wanted a king room for 2 men. When I arrived at room 711 it was blatantly obvious that it had not been cleaned and hadn't been... more

This is the worst hotel in the world. I have stayed at hotels in Sri Lanka that are better than this place. The hotel staff makes Ivan the Terrible look like a nice guy. more

To say the least the Artisan was a disappointment. First of all, only one of two elevators was in working order making for some long waits. The rooms are spartan but decent sized, could use some updating but I would say that they are passable if you are not too picky. The location is great from a Memphis perspective, walking... more

This was far by the most terrible hotel I have stayed at. I work in the hospitality industry and never had I stayed in such a dump. The rooms were something out of the 70's. The pictures on the web were nothing like they were advertised. The carpet was dirty, the beds were hard. We even on serveral ocassions had... more

Our family went to Memphis and were thinking that though the Artisan was not the nicest place we'd stayed at, it was ok until...we got back from seeing the sights and both my daughter's school laptop and my husband's laptop from work were stolen from our room. We went to ask the front desk, who were incredibly uncooperative. Over 3000... more

My wife and I stayed at the Artisan at about the midway point in a Southeast US Road trip. We had been staying in friends' guest rooms and pull out couches and we were looking forward to having our own space and not encroaching on anybody's house. This was the wrong place to attempt such an idea. The hotel is... more

This hotel was absolutely terrible to say the least...The pictures that are online are probably of what the hotel looked like when they first opened. The only thing that looks relatively the same is the pool and the looby. The rooms were an insult to anyone paying there money to stay there. They look nothing like the photo on their... more

I am very surprised all the poor reviews of this hotel. I booked this hotel because reviews on Hotels.com and Expedia.com were decent. However, the day before I flew out to Memphis, I discovered all the negative reviews on TripAdvisor. I was scared and even considered cancelling my reservation. I'm glad I did not because I really feel that the... more

Stayed 05/16 05/17. booked for king size bed. Found 2 doubles. rebooked rooms. Left a bag in the 1st room. was given a key the next day, told the room was vacant still, given a key to get the bag only to barg in on someone sleeping. The attendant said his records showed no one there. Very odd! Saturday night... more

I stayed at this hotel on May 2, 2008 - May 4, 2008. I am very displeased with my very unpleasant experience especially with the unacceptable service that I received for the price that I paid ($295) to stay at this hotel. My room was also extremely unclean. There were no towels, hand towels or wash clothes in the room... more
