My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon at the Mauna Lani. It was amazing. If it is good service you want, and a relaxing, decompressing vacation, this is the place for you. We received the best service we have ever had, and we are both well-traveled, at the Mauna Lani. Upon arrival we were given leis, and a... more

When my family and I first stayed at this property when it first opened we all agreed it was a lovely spot, but the service was lacking. We talked with one of the managers, off the cuff, not complaining, just chatting and he talked about the challenges of finding local workers to perform in a five star resort when they... more

This was an amazing trip. First we stayed in an oceanfront room, and I mean OCEAN front. A grassy area right out the doors, then the sand and ocean. The gentle waves kept us company all day and night. We were suppose to transfer midweek to the Hapuna Prince, but when we went to check in there, also an oceanfront... more

It was fantastic. 1) Servie: We received our superb service actually before we arrive. I booked the vac through the hotel website, and and researvation agent took our travel... more

This is an excellent hotel. Whilst the bedrooms may not be the height of luxury (think v good 4*), they are very comfortable, large and clean. Make sure that you go for at least garden view (or blag an upgrade). The hotel restaurants are very good, as is the concierge facility. The beach is a delight, with turtles everywhere. Lovely tennis/gym.... more

This is by far the most authentic and uniquely Hawaiin hotel we have visited. Words cannot properly describe the charm, atmosphere and truely Aloha experience created by the staff and enviornment. The hotel is unmatched in its peaceful, serene and understated elegance creating a terrific sense of place consistent with dignified Hawaiin themes. My wife and 2 teenage sons all... more

We were here from August 4-9, 2008 and stayed in an Ocean View room. We recommend this hotel for couples and adults rather than families with children because there aren't a lot of activities for kids. For families, the Hilton or Sheraton would be better. Location: One of the very best on the west, Kona side. There are two small... more

Our family of four stayed here for 6 nights before heading to Honolulu for a family reunion -- we had a terrific time. From the moment we arrived, we could tell this is a hotel serious about service and pampering guests. Walking into the serene, beautiful lobby, I could feel all that mainland tension just floating away! Our room was... more

We recently stayed five nights at the Mauna Lani and had one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had. This is an elegant hotel set in a beautiful location. From the stark lava fields that lead to the verdant golf course, to the gentle beach out front, to the lovely gardens and pools around the hotel, the setting... more

We stayed 10 days at the Mauna Lani and we wished we had booked two more days. The hotel is beautiful with its atrium filled with fish and turtle lagoons. Every morning my 10 month old daughter and I would take our early walk while mom slept. We would greet the fish in the pools and say hi to the... more
