As mentioned by many other reviewers, the location is very convenient. The hotel is what you would expect from a Marriott. Beds were very comfortable. The room was clean and efficiently structured. Room was prepared in advance as "feather-free" as requested, which was much appreciated. Fitness facility is top notch. Only complaint was with the concierge facility. The facility is... more

I stayed at this hotel for a business trip. My room was average, nothing special about it at all. The windows were dirty on the outside and the view wasn't that impressive (I was on the ninth floor overlooking other buildings). The conference area is in the basement of the hotel so there are no windows. That starts to get... more

In late July, the San Francisco Marriott hosted the 2008 Romance Writers of America Conference - "Romance, Bridging the World." We could not have visited a better city, or hotel. From the time we arrived a few days before the conference until check-out a week later, we felt at ease. From bellhop to maid service to concierge, the staff was... more

Stayed at this hotel for a business convention Aug 3 through Aug 7-total of 4 nights. Checked in at front desk and was told I was assigned 19th floor/city view, handicap room. Advised front desk I did not require such a room and they should reassign that type of room to another traveler with special needs. Reassigned the 11th floor/King... more

We were there for six nights for a convention. This hotel has a great location and we could walk to Bart, bus, and trolleys, Cable cars are also close by but use only if you are a first time visitor to San Francisco....the wait if too long for anything but a one time ride. No one we were with, ate... more

This is pretty much what you expect from a Marriott - nice rooms, nice hotel, but a bit overpriced. I'm not talking about the rates as I always book through priceline but am talking about their bars/restaurants/convenience store. 14 for a cocktail is a bit much. 42 is the cheapest bottle of wine you can get and that's for regular... more

Major marriott member. Stayed on award points. GREAT location for business - right near market st. and convention center. Stayed for a 'staycation' near home. Most of the action for tourists is a $15 taxi ride away - no big. But DON'T walk around outside at night. You won't be robbed, but it's ugly. I HATE the lobby of this... more

My husband and I stayed here last week for 4 nights. He was attending a conferance there, it was our first time in the city. This was the perfect location for us, as I could keep myself entertained while he was working. Everything is very close and easy walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. I did not enjoy... more

This hotel is right across from the Metreon and a block from the new Nordstrom's mall (Westfield). Couldn't be more convenient to see a movie at the Imax or regular theatre, ice skate or bowl at Yerba Buena, shop at the mall, and walk a few blocks to Union Square. For tourist families, it's ideal! The staff were incredibly friendly... more

We were at a huge convention at this Marriott, and for a hotel of this size, we were very impressed. Efficient check-in (surprise!), quality housekeepers, big enough fitness center, and within walking distance (or streetcar/BART/metro distance) to everything you'd want. Good place to stay. more
