I just stayed at the Bristol for 4 days, while attending a conference at the Westin (Gaslamp). The Brisol was $100.00 less per night than a room at the Westin would have been, and was less than 2 blocks from the Westin. My room was spotless, and well-maintained by the hotel staff. Desk staff were friendly and helpful overall. I... more

Upon first checking into the Bristol, the hotel seemed decent. The price was competitive for downtown San Diego, and the rooms were clean, well decorated, and fairly quiet (as quiet as downtown can be). However, little did we know, the Bristol would be checking people into our room while we were sleeping throughout the night! When we first checked in... more

There are some great features about the Bristol: The location is very convenient for exploring the Gaslamp and Downtown districts. It is close to the airport and transit system and shopping so that is a plus. The room was spacious and clean. There were a couple of things that were a bit of a problem: Daisy's the onsite restaurant was... more

What a wonderful hotel. When I checked in, I was told there was no longer a regular room with one king size bed, I was then upgraded to a deluxe! The room was superb, it was huge, clean, comfortable. Location is perfect it's near everything. The trolley is one block away, Gaslamp District, and the Harbor are close by, Balboa... more

We stayed at the Bristol for several nights and had a great experience. At check-in we were offered the choice of a room on an upper floor that faced 1st Street or a room located on the other side of the hotel - we chose the 1st Street room, with a view of the harbor. Some guests feel that the... more

Great hotel in a perfect location (two blocks from Gaslamp Quarter). The room was big and tastefully decorated. The bathroom was full of nice toiletries, that were duly replenished. Lots of fresh towels and even bathrobes. Free security box within the room and free Internet (with printer) in the lobby. Very helpful employees. The only negative things were the high... more

Not the best place, but OK. The room was huge, and a lot of things were fine. But some of the details, like a funky and clearly worn-down bathtub, the bizarre hall carpeting, and the early morning work in the wall next to the room (not to mention the worker making out with his girlfriend in the elevator), gave this... more

Thank you for your review though I am quite interested if you could let me know more about the work and worker himself, as the only item that has been completed recently is the ongoing bathtub reglazing and that has only been completed at a floor at a time while the entire floor has been out of service to our...

I stayed 5 nights at the Bristol while attending a conference in San Diego. I attend this conference every year and have stayed at many downtown hotels. The Bristol is a great little boutique hotel - the staff were very accommodating - and the rooms were clean with free internet etc. On the negative side, it is quite a hike... more

Thanks for your excellent review of our services and staff. Our location is always a topic of discussion among both the guests and staff as some prefer us not being in the heart of the gaslamp and being just two city blocks away; while others would like us to be in the midst of the festivities. The convention center is...

There's a few things that could have been better. The Service for one, was not very friendly. However, this has been my experience in most of Southern California as we canadians are used to "you're welcome" instead of "uh-huh" as a response. The room was really clean but the shower didn't have a vent so when showering it was like... more

Thanks for your review and letting me know about the staff's improper responses. I am confused to your comment about vents as all of our bathrooms do indeed have vents in the showers that are connected to the A/C system, however they do not have a fan like the type that is available in most homes. Perhaps that is the...
