As a couple, the whole 'double beds in dorms' experience was interesting. I've stayed at GT many, many times over the years and while there have been occasional stumbles, my experiences here were by far better than almost anywhere. The staff is usually knowledgeable (this knowledge seems to taper off during the day...) and always friendly. Rooms are cleaned daily, though your roommates will have a profound affect on appearance and smell.... more

The Green Tortoise can't be beat with its outstanding prices and location. The staff really makes you feel at home and are friendly and courteous. They also distribute information on how to get to various attractions and landmarks, a very valuable asset!
