Booked a week's stay in a junior suite, which turned out to be a semi detached bungalow in the attractive olive grove grounds of the hotel. Very disappointed with our suite 310. Right next to a path leading to other suites etc so we felt overlooked on our terrace and felt people using the path could see into our room. But the worst problem was the 24/7 noise from the extractor fans for the hotel kitchens just across the path, and the view of the tall, silver extractor chimney and the telegraph pole right outside. Noise was so awful, we couldn't relax on the terrace and it was still audible inside our bungalow with the patio doors shut. Next morning, we asked if we could move to a bungalow further up the hill, where we couldn't hear the noise and we could have an actual view. Luckily suite 315 was being vacated later that day, and we could have it for the remaining 6 nights of our holiday. Bliss. A view of the mountain and gardens and no noise drilling into my brain, all the time. Junior suites are spacious with 6 ft beds, separate lounging area, 2 desks, big shower cubicle, basin in the room with no screening but a separate toilet with a basin, if you prefer more privacy to wash. Large terrace with pretty widow boxes, table and 2 chairs. The hotel is very plush, with restaurant seating areas inside and outside. The food was AMAZING the entire week we were there. I am pescatarean and I had a choice of fish every night. Also there were always chicken and either lamb, beef or pork options. FANTASTIC choices of vegetables, all perfectly cooked and served hot from the pick yourself buffet. Breakfasts were varied....you name it, they had it. Less choice with desserts, but I defy anyone to not find something that suited them. Six choices of ice creams every night, plus fruit and cheese and biscuits. The pool is a decent size and the pool area is lovely, with lots of shade and 2 Bali style beds with curtains. The pool bar serves a great selection of lunches, all delicious and not rip off prices, as well as drinks. The lovely bar staff will even bring your order to your sun lounger. I would have given 5 stars, but for 2 things. 1 )The walls between the adjoining bungalows are not solid....consequently, in both the suites we stayed in, we could hear noise from other guests...talking but more annoyingly, snoring. 2) There was muzak on a loop played everywhere. At breakfast, piped soft jazz. In the pool bar area during the day, a better choice but in the evenings in the restaurant, a very odd selection of music and it was very LOUD. Our first night in suite 310 we could hear every single word and it wasn't switched off until 10.30. In suite 315, it was not so intrusive and later in the week, the volume was reduced significantly and turned off earlier, so maybe other guests complained. Would we stay here again? If I could guarantee that we would be offered a suite with a view and no extractor fan noise, then YES, definitely. What have I learned? That not all junior suites are created equal yet the price is the same. It's the luck of the draw if you get a noisy one with no view or a quiet one with a lovely view. In conclusion, I cannot rate the food here highly enough so if you like to eat well on your holiday, you won't be disappointed here.…
