Hi

I am meant to be going to Benidorm, staying in the Terralta Appartments, on 21st October with my boyfriend. It looks like we are on the verge of spliting up but I have to intention of giving up my holiday!

Is Benidorm safe enough for a 31 year old female on her own? I've been on holiday on my own to Malta before and felt completely safe. Obviously, I was careful and wasn't drinking late and I made sure I walked along busy, well lit areas.

Would Benidorm be the same? I'm fairly streetwise and confident but I just want to know if there are any areas I should steer clear of.

I'm flying into Alicante and I've got a hire car booked - is the drive to Benidorm and the apartment straight forward and the kind of route I can navigate on my own? Any problems I should look out for?

I've also got tickets for the Moto GP so will be driving up to Valencia - is there plenty parking at the circuit?

We may have things sorted prior to the holiday but we are both stubborn so I want to plan ahead just incase!

Please excuse the long post!

Embo

Embo,

Go girl, you will be safe if you follow your instincts as you did in Malta. Don't carry too much cash and make sure you you don't veer off the main streets at night.

I've hired a car in Algofa and driven to Benidorm, it's all motorway, clearly signed.

Have change handy as there are two if I remeber right tolls you need to go through.

I loved driving there, great fun and safe.

If you have booked your hols, and he's playing up, why go away together and be miserable, go on your own and have a fantastic time.

The people are really friendly, so you should have great fun.

Wish I could find a 31 year young female on her own. You'll have a whale of a time.

Just take the same care you would do any where else i.e. don't flash your cash around, don't get so drunk you can't think straight, try not to use your mobi in the street, stick to well lit areas and stay alert and you will have a great time.

Terralta great apartments but slightly away from action. Would consider budgeting for taxis back at night.

If your up for a bit of adventure, get a taxi to the Cafe Benidorm Bar (after midnight), it's more for your/our age group than a disco, and at the end of the night there is a constant stream of taxi's on the door-step to take you back.

Regards jinx

Hi again. I always go the the superbikes and sometimes the motogp but no plans this year. Very easy to find and ample parking. Valencia is a super circuit as you can see the whole place from anywhere. Directions are simple. Motorway to Valencia the motorway to Madrid for about 10 miles. The circuit is well signed on the Madrid motorway. Been there lots of times and you'll love it. Like I said it's super for the view.

Like the others say, just use your head and don´t take any unnecessary risks and you´ll be fine.

When I moved over here I moved here alone, I was 27 at the time and I did (and still do) all the things you said (keeping to well lit areas etc), I´ve not (yet) touch wood been attacked or anything like that. I still feel safe here at whatever time day or night. Hope you have a great time (I´m sure you will) x
