Has anyone been on 'Road to Mandalay' since it started operating again this August?
Not here, but the boat has been completely refurbished to the highest standards, expect nothing but the best for those prices!
we are thinking of doing this trip if you get any feedback would appreciate the sharing

This article was written by a guest of the RTM and whilst it covers all of the tour there is detail of the boat in the piece.

I have taken 2 tours in the past on the old RTM and also the Pandaw & I would recommend you look at each of them before your decide.
RTM is very upmarket and aims at a "certain clientele", jackets for dinner etc and there were loads of NY lawyers and West Coast plastic surgeons on our last trip, all very nice but you get the feeling it was yet another exotic cruise for them.
We also ran aground a lot!
The Pandaw is very traditional and stylish with a broader mix of guests and we thought the F&B was better than RTM and we did not run aground!.
Take a look at both their web sites
.
Thank you for your links and comments - we are in the process of weighing above both options. We both like the idea of a slightly longer cruise and are attracted to the two week itinery. We want to go in February'ish and are trying to put a whole package together. Is Burma safe is our other slightly nagging question............
All honest comments gratefully received!
In a nutshell - probably the safest place for tourists in Asia.
We have been going for ten years and are now planning a tour with our grandchildren, aged 11 & 5, later this year.
