We stayed at the Arctic Club and didn't even know they were going to open the SAME day we booked our arrival- July 9th. They worked hard to overcome all the issues of not being ready to open, but it just wasn't enough. We're so easy going- we just laughed about getting high on paint fumes every time we opened our room door. Lucky for us it was a hot day and we really wanted to cool down with a cool shower because the hot water didn't seem to work for the first time. (It was fine the next morning). We also got a kick out of how the front desk staff jumped at every question like they were skittish rabbits. They really did try hard. I do think the manager should have welcomed every guest with..., "Hey folks- sorry we are not entirely ready to open yet...here's some free drinks at the bar or a discounted rate". That would have at least acknowledged the obvious. Don't get me wrong- the location is great, the hotel is beautiful, and the ceiling in the ballroom is stunning. They just need a little time to get things in order.
