My wife and I spent 8 days at the Cabanas La Conchitas and frankly were sad to leave. We've been quite a few places, several different continents and this was undoubtedly the best place we've been. In large part this is because it's exactly what we were looking for, quiet, very well maintained, wonderful beach that was pristine, cleaned every day and private. the staff were very very gracious, Pancho was incredibly helpful. He made sure we got the correct price for the taxis we needed, his brother Alejandro took us to 2 private cenotes and they had lots of suggestions for places to see with an objective assessment. It was hot, but then it's the hot season and you have to just deal with it. our first night was uncomfortable, no breeze and after that it was good, we acclimatized and most of the time there was a breeze. the ruins at Tulum are very interesting as was Coba. Xel Ha was worth the $ and the rude tourist density as we got to see lots and lots of fish, yellow fin, turtles, barracuda. we also snorkeled on the reef via the dive shop next to la Conchita, again more than our money's worth. Amanda, who owns the coffee shop across the street is another one of the gracious and charming people we met. we had many breakfasts and dinners watching the ocean. oh and the breakfasts and coffee at la Cabana are great. Different World also arranged for private transportation fromt the airport in Cancun to and from la Conchita, a littel spendy but Mauricio was another one of those gracious people who gave us lots of good tips about what to do, see and eat. all in all it was the most romantic place we've been, our only bad experience was with the bank in town, long wait, bad service and bad attitude. everything else was perfect and we'd go back again in a heartbeat.

“Paradise... with some issues.”

Ok lets start off with the good:
Best beach I have been on in my life. Better then cancun by far. The breakfast was great. Everyone was really helpful and the rooms were done nicely. I went with my girlfriend and was going to stay for 3 nights but thats where it became a problem.

The major problem was heat, we both couldnt sleep it was so hot, we knew there was no A/C going and thought we could bare it. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. There is no breeze going into cabana #4 cause its blocked by cabana #2. We even brought some portable fans that did little to keep us from sweating. We can deal with the wildlife and bugs but we eventually got a hour or so sleep and felt worse when we woke up then when we went to bed. Again this place does have the best beach but its at a price :) My g/f also stepped on some glass the 1st day that wasnt cleaned up from the maid from whatever happened before we got there. Didnt get any refund which was ok cause I didnt push the issue exp when I knew there would be no A/C. So its really my fault. Me and my girlfriend are both 21 and love to hike and all that. So be wary of going if you dont like the heat.

“Fantastic La Conchita in Wonderful Tulum”

Cabanas la Conchita

We stayed at La Conchita for a week in May after getting married in Las Vegas. We stayed in Cabana #1, which is the closest Cabana to the sea, and it was as described - absolutely perfect. The beach here we thought was the best in Tulum and although the sea is quite wavy we enjoyed trying to catch the waves - boogie boards and a kayak are available to use.
La Conchita provides breakfast everyday, which is a choice of everything you could want and freshly squeezed orange juice - this set us up very well for the day ahead (which generally consisted of lying on one of the sun lounges on the beach or the hammock outside the cabana... pure bliss....).
We really liked Tulum - it's a very relaxed place with lots of good places to eat, such as Posada Magherita, Zamas and Mezzannine (every Friday in the peak season they have a live band/DJ night - this was great, v Ibiza chilled out evening). It's also really easy to get to the main touristy places such as Chichin Itza, Xel Ha and XelCarat from Tulum. We also stayed on Isla Mujeres during our trip, but Tulum was by far our favourite place.
We would certainly recommend La Conchita and Tulum - we absolutely loved it and definitely plan to return.

I reserved a cabana here because the house we were renting in Tulum was not available for the first two nights of our vacation. In retrospect I wish we would have stayed here the whole time. It was a tremendous value. In our trips up and down the beach, I did not see anywhere else I would have rather been.

The beach itself was lovely. Just perfect. The rocky outcroppings on either end inhibit traffic. We had access to the lounges whenever we wanted. I had no sense of interlopers, although folks staying to at the resorts to the south end up sharing the space to an extent.

Breakfast was great. The staff was friendly. They were quiet and unassuming, but responded to whatever we asked.

In reading the reviews on this website, I was worried that there might be some sort of effort to create a "buzz" that wasn't honest opinion. I couldn't have been happier with our experience, and now I want to add to that buzz.

“The best cabanas in Tulum!”

Cabanans La Conchita is absolute paradise! The staff, relaxing atmosphere, awesome beach and delicious complimentary breakfast really set this property apart. My fiance proposed on the deck of the beachfront cabana! SO romantic!
The cabanas are very clean and comfortable. They give you a cooler for drinks as well as bottled drinking water - we even had a shaded parking spot for our rental car. I could not dreamed of a better setting for a such an amazing trip!
