My wife and I spent 8 days at the Cabanas La Conchitas and frankly were sad to leave. We've been quite a few places, several different continents and this was undoubtedly the best place we've been. In large part this is because it's exactly what we were looking for, quiet, very well maintained, wonderful beach that was pristine, cleaned every day and private. the staff were very very gracious, Pancho was incredibly helpful. He made sure we got the correct price for the taxis we needed, his brother Alejandro took us to 2 private cenotes and they had lots of suggestions for places to see with an objective assessment. It was hot, but then it's the hot season and you have to just deal with it. our first night was uncomfortable, no breeze and after that it was good, we acclimatized and most of the time there was a breeze. the ruins at Tulum are very interesting as was Coba. Xel Ha was worth the $ and the rude tourist density as we got to see lots and lots of fish, yellow fin, turtles, barracuda. we also snorkeled on the reef via the dive shop next to la Conchita, again more than our money's worth. Amanda, who owns the coffee shop across the street is another one of the gracious and charming people we met. we had many breakfasts and dinners watching the ocean. oh and the breakfasts and coffee at la Cabana are great. Different World also arranged for private transportation fromt the airport in Cancun to and from la Conchita, a littel spendy but Mauricio was another one of those gracious people who gave us lots of good tips about what to do, see and eat. all in all it was the most romantic place we've been, our only bad experience was with the bank in town, long wait, bad service and bad attitude. everything else was perfect and we'd go back again in a heartbeat.
