We booked the Montcalm as a last minute break.Got a great rate through London nights.com.The hotel was in a good, central location. The staff were friendly, and helpful. We had booked a duplex suite, and were more than happy. The suite consisted of 2 rooms over 2 floors, with a spiral staircase. The rooms could be entered on either floor. Although there was general wear and tear, with some paintwork looking a little scuffed, it did not spoil our stay. Our rooms were clean, and the towelling robes a nice touch. We didn't eat at the hotel, preferring to try some of many restaurants London has to offer. All in all the Montcalm was a great find.Would definately recommend this hotel as a great place to stay.

Montcalm Nikko London

We have stayed at his hotel 3 times in the last 4 years. The location remains terrific, the restaurant excellent and the hotel staff accommodating. Unfortunately, there have been no noticeable improvements in the last 4 years. TV's are old, and the room decor is the same as it was 4 years ago. In short, the Montcalm needs a "spiffing up". Rooms are smallish and could benefit from wallhung, space saving, flat screen TV's. There is no clock in the room. On this visit, one of the 2 elevators was broken all week. If your seeking an excellent location and a friendly staff, this is a good choice. If you seek luxury, go elsewhere.

I was looking for a hotel in the vicinity of Oxford Street, but still in a quiet location. The Montcalm Nikko met my expectations quite well.

I had booked a "Single Elegant Quiet Room" via Expedia. At first I got a room next to the elevator, which was not that quiet. After I spoke to reception they immediately moved me to another room, which was absolutely fine.

My room rate was 145 Euros (excl. tax) and I had booked it via the internet about 6 weeks preceding my visit.

All in all the hotel is quite nice, only a few minutes walk from Oxford Street and situated in a lovely litte crescent.

I am slightly surprised by how highly rated this hotel is in London. We stayed for 2 nights and the hotel upgraded us to a large two floor suite. This was very gracious and while the suite was large in size, it was extremely dated and reeked of cigarette smoke. It literally seemed like smoke was hanging on every strand of fabric in the room.

The staff was generally pleasant but not overly so. I would describe the service as kind but hardly memorable. The hotel markets itself as belng in a good location.

I would not stay in the Montcalm on future visits to London.

Traveling with work and staying in London is a challenge, rates are so high and hotels take every advantage to hike the prices!

The Montcalm was worryingly close to a main road but turned out to be pretty quiet even with a window open at night. VERY helpful concierge and check in staff. Food was ok, I had room service which was prompt.

The room itself was a little sombre and compact but clean and very comfortable. Everything you could want business-wise with hi-speed internet that actually works and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. T&C facilites and a big TV. Good closet space, standard big hotel bathroom.

Excellent location for walking to work in Bond Street and late night shopping on Oxford Street. M&S and Selfridges round the corner for food shopping if the hotel food doesn't appeal
