We stayed her for 5 nights in June and found the staff very helpful and friendly. The rooms where clean and breakfast very nice.
Great location to Paddington station and walking distance to Oxford St.

We recently returned from a 13 night stay at the Darlington. There were 6 in our travel party. We stayed in the triple twin room #3 and the family room #5. Both rooms were well equiped, clean, and comfortable. We had stayed in room 3 before and room 5 was new to us. We loved room 5. It is a 2 bedroom room. You enter into a twin room and there is a double room in the back. Both rooms have a tv and the windows open to a small courtyard.
The breakfast room was as good as we remembered. The staff was new but very pleasant.
The reception staff went above and beyond on a couple of occasions. First my son tried to wash his clothes not understanding that it would take a lot longer than here at home. Since we had to leave for the theatre, a staff member volunteered to take them out when they were done and have them at the front desk for him when we returned. The second occasion was when we left London and had plans to rent a car. I accidently grabbed the wrong passport out of our room safe. My passport was necessary to make the rental. The front desk staff member went to my room and retrieved my passport out of the safe, faxed it to the rental agency, and returned my passport to the safe.
We absolutely love the Darlington and will definitely return for a third stay!

If you are looking for a great hotel located near Paddington Station, this is the place! Very clean, nice rooms, quiet, helpful staff and a fabulous breakfast! The hotel is situated on a boulevard with beautiful trees and lovely old buildings. It's close to the tube, bus and within walking distance of Hyde Park. I would definitely stay here again!

As a solo female traveller I think The Darlington was the perfect hotel to stay at during my time in London...

Firstly, it is very easy to locate. Catch the Hawthorw express train from the airport to Paddington Station & you can either walk or catch a cab to the hotel as it's around the corner. I took a cab because of my suit case, it was only 4pounds.

Secondly, it was very secure. There is a security lock on both the front door & also on the door to exit the lobby to access the rooms.

The staff where friendly enough and breakfast was good. The room was clean & tidy & I enjoyed a good night sleep. At times, I could hear the footsteps from upstairs, but this didn't cause me to lose any sleep.

The location itself, Sussex Gardens, is perfect & with Paddington station around the corner, it is extremely convenient to hop on the tube to get around town . Very easy, even for me.

All up would highly recommend it.
