I was very surprised when I arrived at this Hotel. Everything was clean, calm and looked relaxing. The checkin was fast and easy due to a well organized staff. The staff is really friendly, helpful and if they got enough time they joke around with you. Great people. I stayed in room 483, a pool view room, it was very modern and the equipment was very good, not really high class, but above average. There is a broadband-modem in the room but the downstream is limited to ~60k/s and don't forget your own wire.

The pool with the sand beach and the palmtrees around it makes it really look like an oasis. It seemed to me that only half the hotel was booked out so there were never many people around. This was some kind of sad because the swimup- and poolbar was never really much visited and therefore closed very early.

Overall the Novotel Oasis Resort was a good choice for me. I had a quick look at the other hotels, which I had considered to stay with, but I think when it comes to style, comfort and a feeling of relaxation the Novotel is the best. Even the price is acceptable. And I would recommend the pool view room because they put little oil-
flambeaus on at night-time and it's very nice to look at them.

The hotel is very well located. You are in five minutes in downtown Cairns and in ten minutes at the casino and the harbour and you still feel far away of the busy citylife.

I liked the room, it was very comfortable. The location is great, and walking distance from the esplanade and lots of restaurants. The pool and courtyard area looked great, and i wish i hadn't planned so much stuff away from the hotel so i could have spent more time enjoying it.

I didn't like the room at all. They are very small and dated. The carpet was dirty and the hallway smelt of smoke. They should rip out the carpet. I wouldn't call it a resort, just a 2 star motel with a nice pool. Also on the first day we arrived the pool was very crowded. They should invest in more deck chairs. On our last day they only half cleaned our room. They made the beds but they left the damp towels. We didn't worry about it as we were leaving the next day.
I did find the staff to be friendly and helpful. It is in a fantastic location and the pool is large and is nice.
My husband liked it, but I wouldn't stay there again.

I only stayed the one day, it was an easy 10 minute cab ride from the airport and is surrounded by a number of other hotels on the Northern end of Cairns.

The room was clean and OK, a little small but I did expect more given the price. There is no cable on the TV and no internet in the room. Bathroom was clean and tidy.

The staff are wonderful and were very helpful. Location was close to most things but if I was coming with the family would chose somewhere else. On a business trip I would also look elsewhere. I am sure I could get better services for the same price, if not cheaper.

Pool and restaurant were nice, food was good and pricing was reasonable.
