Tropic Towers is about 15 mins walk from town, although it is a pleasant stroll along the esplanade. We stayed in a two bedroomed apartment with our teenagers which gave us all some space to do our own thing. It was big,clean and bright and serviced with fresh towels and tea/coffee on a daily basis. It was well laid out with washing machine & tumble dryer which we used several times as we stayed here for two weeks. The pool and barbecue area is immaculate and was enjoyed by us all most days. The staff were friendly, helpful and well informed about local attractions.
When we were sat on our balcony (overlooking the pool) we did here some noise from the airport but the plus side of that is that your taxi transfer is very cheap.
Nearby are some shops, resturants and a small but reasonably priced supermarket.
Overall we were very pleased with the apartments and they represent excellent value for money, I would stay here again.

Apartments are very nice, close to both city and airport HOWEVER they are located directly on the flight path for Cairns Airport. Not only are they on the flight path but the vast majority of both domestic and international flights turn right above the apartments.

This is a shame as the apartments are nice but I would recommend you consider this annoying very loud noise factor when booking. International flights start around 5:30 a.m. with the last one out around midnight ... arrrhhh!

We stayed at Tropic Towers for 2 nights wiht my boyfriend and his mum, the best part abotu Tropic Towers was that the bedroom was separate from the living area and the living area contained a single bed that my boyfriends mother slept in for an extra $12 we where so busy running around Cairns that we where hardly there. The bath was a huge corner style and each apartment has its own balcony the only downside is probably that its not really walking distance to the centre of the city.

An excellent apartment complex with friendly and helpful staff. The apartment is light and sunny with the usual cream on cream interior. Comes complete with a dishwasher which makes a terrible noise.! It is on the main road into Cairns, so get an apartment overlooking the carpark to avoid all traffic noise. However you cannot avoid the aircrafts turning out to sea just by the complex..but not really an issue. Bus stop is right outside the door as it is too far to walk into the city. I would recommend the complex.
