Before being able to review this place I have to tell you the cost for a Sunday and Monday night in June was $250 per night, not including a total of $60 in taxes. I say that because at that price I expect very luxurious accomodations but since this is Cooperstown in the summer, I guess it's just a little more than your average B&B in price.
We stayed in room 6, it had a queen bed and a twin bed and a large bathroom. The main part of the house smells like an antique store. The room we stayed in had an AC window unit and it worked well. The windows were painted or stuck shut. The movies are located just outside room 6 and this is definitely not a room for romance but worked well for our little family visit. It was clean, a little sad in appearance in some ways but clean and comfortable. They store the roll away beds in the closet of that room, FYI.
Room 5 looked awesome for a single or a couple, looked very comfy and cozy and out of the way more so than most of the rooms. Room 4 is at the very top of the stairs, I would not want that location as it must be the least private and quiet room. The door was open at one point and no the room is not that deep.
Breakfast was wonderful, served in a lovely dining room. Each room gets its own table or they will put groups together it appeared. It is served on nice china and fruit is waiting for you. Breakfast is at 8:30 am. Sunday we were served an egg bake with sausage links and biscuits and cinnamon apple sauce. Monday we had a french toast bake with ham, coffee cake, and fresh fruit ( pineapple, blueberries and strawberries). There is also orange juice and coffee and everyone gets water too. The chef is a lovely woman who offered to make our daughter pancakes on the egg bake morning.
The rooms have VCR's but not DVD's. Free movie rentals included Field of Dreams and other favorites. The shower water was hot even with everyone in the house taking a shower at the same time ( since breakfast is at 8:30 everyone is up at about the same time).
Cooperstown has a volunteer fire department and so the sirens go off for the entire town at all hours, including 5am.
What I wish this B&B had was a community porch to sit out on but it did not.
Other B&B's on the same street are The Baseball B&B and The White House B&B. There are 2 Cooperstown B&B's closer to town and the HOF. We were able to walk to everything, the main town and the HOF and Double Day field but don't think it's just a block or two away. The town felt safe and was a pleasure to walk through.
My recommendation is to stay in Cooperstown in the autumn. The HOF hours are only 9 to 5 then but the leaves are gorgeous we here and the sunsets over the lake are also wonderful. The B&B's might be cheaper then too.
Summer HOF hours are 9 to 9 and I suggest going back to look at things you didn't get to spend time looking at, around 7pm at night. In the morning there are crowds of people including kids baseball teams and you feel kind of rushed along. Eat an early dinner and then go back ( admission is all day) and you can have a more relaxing experience. We did this on a Monday night and it was great.
DO NOT eat at the All American Cafe, it is HORRIBLE and pricey! Ants everywhere, the reuben was terrible. Instead, try Cooley's Tavern around the corner across from the Chinese place. They have great reubens and yes even hot dogs. The wings were okay. The sweet potato fries were great!
