With a government discount applied, the price for two Queen beds in a nice, clean and comfortable room came to $70 per night. Friendly staff, fairly convenient location to all attractions in Cooperstown proper (about a five minute drive to HOF) made staying here quite worthwhile.
We had a chance to check out the exterior of some of the lodging in and around Cooperstown, and maybe it's because it is not "high season" yet (this is April), but some of the properties--especially lakeside, are showing their age. Not their "character", but their age ;-(
Note to families coming to Cooperstown this time of year: Lots of attractions are NOT yet opened, so aside from the HOF and some good eating places (TJ's, Danny's), there is NOT that much to do in this neck of the woods.
