We initially booked an apt in town at the Stables Inn and were really disappointed. We moved to this location and it was perfect. Plenty of room for kids to run around, clean rooms, pleasant managers and quiet. Only three miles (five minutes) from the Dreamspark, this is a great place for teams whose families want to stay together. We had access to laundry, nearby groceries and wireless internet as well.

We traveled to Cooperstown with our son's baseball team the last week of June and 6 of our team families stayed here. We had the commissioners suite. This suite is attached to the owners home. The suite was very clean. The kitchen had everything you could need, even had new appliances. The dugout is right next door and now only has one bedroom but now has a kitchen table. The other 4 families rented the other suites. They are set up in a house around the corner. Basically you get a room and a bathroom in this house with a common living room and kitchen. That was alright with our group as they were all together but could feel strange if you just rented one suite and didn't know the other people. The ad said "laundry facilites" which were not made available to us, went to the laundrymat in the next town. The pool is no longer available. Nice grounds with swingset and chairs and grills. Kids liked being able to run around and play in the woods. I would probably stay here again but only in the commissioners suite unless with several families where you could rent the other suites in the other house.

If you are planning a trip to Cooperstown to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame Museum, you can't find a better place to stay then the Gateway Inn & Suites. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and we were upgraded to suites at no extra charge. This place is so clean and comforable you won't believe it. With different room configurations available, it is possible to rent an entire house, complete with livingroom and kitchen. This might prove ideal if you were taking a larger family group to Cooperstown. The prices are very reasonable, and some units are dog friendly (not many places in this town are). It is located away from the hectic bustle of Cooperstown itself, and is very quiet, which we really appreciated after a long, tiring day of sight seeing. If the big chains don't appeal to you, or you have kids that need to run and stretch their legs after a day in town, or you are traveling with a dog, or you want to save some money but still stay in a place that is incredibly clean and comfortable, then the Gateway Inn & Suites is for you, just like it was for us during our visit to Cooperstown.
