A good word for the Mohican is "balanced." It provides a combination of pluses and minuses that balance out to provide an excellent complement to a trip to the Baseball HOF. Key upsides were price and location. The Mohican offered the best price of any hotel I could find within the vicinity of Cooperstown, and is a lovely 15 minute walk to the HOF. Better yet, with parking in Cooperstown a hassle, the Mohican was willing to let us leave our car parked at the hotel the day of our check out. The minuses for the hotel include the inability to make reservations online, as well as the inability to provide a credit card number over the phone. So I had to mail a deposit check to the hotel in order to complete my reservation. (A small hassle, but not a huge deal.) The room amenities are modest - not poor, not great. The bed we had was extremely firm, and the shower in the room wasn't the greatest. But like I said, it's about balance. Despite so-so amenities and reservation challenges, the excellent price, location and parking flexibility make the Mohican an excellent value when visiting the Baseball HOF.

My family has been staying at the Mohican Motel during baseball hall of fame induction for many years. These kind people know we come to Cooperstown every year at this time and they always save us our room. This year, knowing that there would be at least 75,000 people coming to this tiny town, the owners could have very easily told us the room wasn't available and charged at least $400 for the room to someone else or they could have charged us this rate. Being the wonderful people they are, they didn't as other motel owners did during this 2007 baseball induction. This in one of the few motels that is in walking distance to the baseball hall of fame. This is a charming, small motel, with reasonable rates, one you would expect to find in a little town or on a country road. It is very clean with refrigerators and wireless internet.

We stayed at the Mohican for several nights in early June. The motel is very clean & well run. We enjoyed the green towels and sheets (such a nice change from the usual white). The surrounding neighborhood is very quiet. We found the location to be perfect. We parked the car on Saturday and didn't move it until we left on Monday! Walking to the downtown area and the Baseball Hall of Fame took only minutes. We would definitely stay here again!

Just returned from a overnight trip to Cooperstown, NY. Needed a place to stay & a room at Mohican Motel was available. This motel is in the middle of town so it is conveinent to the Baseball Hall of Fame. It is only a 15 minute walk to the Hall. If you just need a place to sleep, this is it. No luxuries, no amenities, just a clean room, small bath & shower, reasonable rates. The staff was very helpful in directing us to the Hall, and the next day when we checked out, she allowed us to leave our car parked there while we went into town to get breakfast. (parking is difficult near the Hall). So we would definately stay @ Mohican again,and we have since the first time was about 10 yrs ago when our sons were small. A good value , quiet and conveinent.
