I convinced my brother from Florida to join me at the Lakes N Pines this fall to go to the Hall of Fame and to view the fall foliage. He was pleasantly surprised. We had a nice 3 BR cottage with full kitchen, a dining room, a living room and a sun room overlooking beautiful Lake Otsego. At night time when the town was dead, we still had fun by utilizing the jacuzzi, sauna and indoor pool. During the mornings, we would eat breakfast outdoors on the deck overlooking the lake. It was extremely peaceful and comfortable. I will be back next year to unwind from the rat race and to recharge my batteries. The staff is very nice and they know how to keep you happy. My brother asked me how I found this place given all the amenities and the great value. I told him that I found it online, took a chance, and will go to no other motel in the Cooperstown area.

I stayed at the L n P one night and the Lake front one night. The Lake n Pines was everything the Lake front wasn't. Lake front gave nothing but a place to sleep. Lake front owners are the cheapest people on the planet ..it was the worst. Lake n pines was a dream compared the Lake front..spacious, quiet room, beautiful view, cont Breakfast, jacuzzi, indoor/outdoor pool. The lake front won't even give you an extra pillow for the bed..one is all you get. If you are willing to drive 5-10 minutes into town stay at Lake n pines. If you want to be in town and are willing to be ripped off by the cheapest people in town then stay at the Lake front. The cheap owner at lake front won't even give you a cup of coffee or a plastic cup, pen and paper in the room. Lake n Pines does it right!

After planning a trip to Cooperstown on our way to Boston we made a last minute decision to stay here for the night. The price was right, and even though it was a 10-minute drive from Cooperstown we loved that it was on the lake.

Our room was very large, and featured a balcony that overlooked the lake and the little breakfast lodge. We booked a room with two full beds on accident- but it still worked out ok. My only complaint is that the beds were EXTREMELY hard. They should definitely invest in some nicer matresses. Aside from that, the room looked as though it had recently been remodeled, the carpet was new, the furniture was dent-free, and everything was very clean.

There were two pools and a hot tub which we did not use, but everything looked great, especially for families.

Breakfast was your usual continental breakfast, featuring cereals, juices, bagels, doughnuts, etc. Again, for the rate we paid per night I can't complain about a nice breakfast for free in the morning!

Overall, we would return and stay here again. Staying at a b&b in Cooperstown is more our style, but we liked how secluded the hotel was and the drive into town really wasn't far.

Stay here for a great value!

For the price this is a great hotel. We were driving thru after dark from the Adirondacks going home to MD and thougnt we'd take a chance on a quaint little place. Were we glad we did! Extremely clean and new bath and furnishings. Best hot tub I've had in a year. On demand channels out the wazoo! I'm on the free internet right now leaving this feedback. Supposed to have continental breakfast in the morning overlooking the lake. It's gonna have to be a real dog to dampen our stay. Try it if you like great value. Nothing is perfect. Right now there is now noise whatsoever.

I thought I did my homework, but I picked a dud for our family's trip to Cooperstown. I was told on the phone that the unit we reserved, a 2-bedroom one, was very quiet. Reviews I read said it was clean and enjoyable, and the motel's website claims they have a "sandy beach". Well the unit wasn't filthy, but very dirty and worn out. It smelled moldy and had little ventilaltion. The unit is above the maintenance garage. There is noise from below starting right after 8am every morning and the unti smells of gas and chemicals unless the AC is on high. There is a game room right next to the unit and you can hear the video game noises 24 hours---the room is locked at 9pm, but the machines run constantly. One day, at 3:40pm, workers started drilling into the blacktop below our unit. The noise and exhaust were unbearable---on the afternoon we hoped to sit out on the lovely deck overlooking the lake. We got a partial refund, but we would rather the fresh air and deck use. Finally, the "beach" is a gravelly little spot. The paddleboats are fine, but there is only one rowboat and one of the oars doesn't work correctly. The afternoon desk "help" was extremely unhelpful: unable to answer basic questions about the area and seemed helpless when addressed with any issue described above. None of this would be so bad if the place wasn't so expensive. Spend your money and vacation elsewhere.
