Our trip was just a leisurely weekend away, stayed Saturday night. The reception person was courteous and to the point, but not much small talk, which is fine with me. There was an older man walking around, who I assume was the owner and he was very quick with a hello when he saw you. We had asked for one of the balcony rooms ($165). The room was good size, clean and cool (very humid day when we arrived). The balcony was small. It was as wide as the room, but was about 4 ft deep with 2 plastic chairs. The bathroom was clean and in good shape, but basic. There were the usual soaps, lotions and shampoo. We had no "problems", only irritations - no toilet paper in the holder (had to get it out of the vanity), no tissues, towels were thin and very rough, the plastic chairs on the balcony were covered with pollen (should have been wiped down), the air conditioner really belted out the cold air which became too much after a while but when turned down it took a long time to cycle on and off, there doesn't appear to be any "sandy beach" as advertised on the website (all we saw was crushed stone). It could be noisy for rooms around the pool with a lot of kids around. A decent place to stay, but we didn't feel at the summer season rate, more like the off season rate. Although, it is the Cooperstown area and right on the lake.
