well-appointed room with beautiful view that appeared newly renovated. grounds are beautiful, very tropical landscaping. great location, handy to everything in San Diego and in an area good for walking and biking. room service was very quick and food good.

We came for Comicon and all the hotels we wanted to stay at were, ofcourse, completely booked up. Read some really good reviews on this place and was really excited to try it out. The description said it had a good view of the bay, the hotel was rated high and it seemed like quite a luxurious place.

Checking in went smoothly. They had heavenly chocolate chip cookies at the front desk. Then we opened the door to our room. Ewh! It was total motel 6! There wasn't a balcony. I have a clear view of some palm tree leaves, but no bay. It smelled funky and everything was dingy and dark. But, since everything was booked up, we didn't have much of a choice.

So, we get back from the convention the first day and open the room door. Out blows a plume of marijuana smoke! So apparently the guests next door decided to hot box it and it all seeped into our room! So much for nonsmoking rooms.. Tried to change rooms. Of course, there were no other rooms available.

I can't believe people honeymoon at this place! It's a total dump. Save the money and stay at a motel 6. The room's are the same.

Comicon rocked! Humphrey's sucked.

We stayed in one of the suites which looked over the marina. Our suite had a full kitchen, with refrigator, microwave, oven, and coffee pot (with all essentials for coffee or tea). We had a balcony where we could sit outside, have coffee enjoying the veiw and peace and quite. there was no bugs or flies but there were some little ducks in the courtyard. When we did take time to relax in front of the tv, great reception and they have free HBO (for you advid movie watchers). We had double beds which were so comfortable you didn't want t get out of bed (would of loved to take it home). If you want to order room service there is a full menu in the room and at a very reasonable price. the courtyard is just amazing with wonderful folage all around which makes it peaceful. The employees and the concierge were all so helpful and friendly. Being that we were not sure where to visit, they provided a brochure with ideas and directions. We would absolutely recommend Humphrey's Half Moon Inn & Suite to anyone who wants to enjoy a nice coastal getaway!

Just stayed one night last week and we can see why people like this place - we did too. Would recommend you bring your ear plugs however as the sound proofing between the rooms is pretty much non-existent and if your neigbours like to talk or keep the TV on late then you will also be getting the benefit! But there is lots to like about the Humphrey's with it's a great location (away from Downtown and very handy for the airport); good facilities; slightly dated but fun tropical look, and easy on-site parking ($10 per night at time of writing).

Overall, we were happy with our stay here and would return, especially given the that price on Expedia was pretty reasonable compared to the very expensive alternatives in San Diego at this time of year.
