Stayed at the Watertown for a second year in a row as it is close to Gasworks Park for the fireworks on July 4th, was very pleased with the service. We used the shuttle for the first time and it was very convenient, dropping us off in the heart of downtown and operating until 9:30pm, not bad for a free shuttle. The house-keeping was great and came quickly when called for more toiletries. The 24-hour workout room (Rare for a hotel) and free breakfast were nice bonuses.

The only frustration was the lack of inputs on the TVs, so you cannot hook up a Wii or any game system to it. Evidently the DVD cart comes with its own TV because even the staff cannot hook anything up to it.

Overall a fantastic stay, 5/5.

“Nice Suburban Hotel”

Nice "chic" hotel in the area around the University of Washington. Great breakfast bar and afternoon drinks and snacks. The shuttle driver was great - he will drive you the 10-15 minutes to downtown. The rooms come in different sizes. The two other families we were traveling with had larger rooms - see if you can book something larger (especially if traveling with kids). Small well-appointed workout room. I was disappointed that one of the 4 cardio pieces was broken and the staff did not seem too concerned about getting it fixed. It hindered our family of 4 from working out together. Movie theater and restaurants in walking distance.

“Loved this hotel BUT.........”

We recently stayed at the Watertown hotel for one evening. We loved this hotel when we arrived.... it's very clean, stylish, friendly and had some really nice touches that other hotels don't have (like the carts you can choose to make your stay more enjoyable.) We were feeling like we had found the best deal in Seattle until.... we slept in the bed. The bed was extremely firm. I generally travel with a memory foam pad when we travel because I like a softer bed but... the memory foam pad didn't make one bit of difference on this very firm bed. We called down to the desk the next morning to see if all the beds were this firm and ... unfortunately they were. We were planning to stay four evenings but... had to switch hotels after one night due to the bed. They were very understanding and accomodating and tried their best to help us with this situation. If you don't mind firm beds, this is a beautiful hotel with lots of accomodations and very friendly staff.

“Favorite Hotel in Seattle”

What is not to like about the Watertown Hotel in the University District of Seattle? It is just too wonderful... We have tried a few different hotels in Seattle this past year (our daughter is there) and, bar none, this place is just the best! What a lovely and fun boutique hotel! Reminded me of a favorite hotel in Venice Italy, with the Watertown's nod to Italian modern/funky/functional design. . . with reasonable rates (Seattle is expensive!) and accommodations that capitalize on comfort and a warm and welcoming staff. Perfect!
I am very particular (as my husband well knows) about hotels.
How delightful to find a beautiful and chic place that has truly comfortable beds, in spotless, 'hip' decor rooms that are quiet (I am a light sleeper), efficient and include secure parking and a better than average breakfast (not just cereal) in the rate.
(Rare to find a Seattle hotel without an added daily parking rate!)
And it gets better: you'll find a treasure trove of "bests" in Seattle to check out, courtesy of the information-rich Watertown Hotel Directory that is in each room, listing unique, local, "staff favorites" for everything from restaurants to Seattle sights (we asked for a copy to take with us... they graciously obliged); then there are the "theme carts" that are no extra charge, which you can order - spa cart, game cart, movie cart... too much fun! And the little fold up pocket map they give out, is just perfect for navigating your way around the main Seattle sights -
Downtown Seattle is an easy commute from the Watertown; if you don't want to drive, check out their shuttle system. Points beyond Seattle sights are within reach as freeway access is close by (but not too close!). And spend some time off the beaten path of downtown to check out the U District, Wallingford, Ballard - and other nearby Seattle treasures.
Even in the gray, drizzly days that Seattle frequently serves up, the comfortable accommodations and warm hospitality at the Watertown will definitely brighten your visit... What a great find -
Thanks, Trip Advisor... that's how we found the Watertown, and your rating was spot on!

“Great Experience - We would definitely go back”

From the beginning to the end a great experience. The price was reasonable and very convenient for where we wanted. I know it's a little far from Pike place but it's not that far. I spoke with Karen Floyd, and she is one of the friendliest staff to deal with anywhere. They also booked our round trip transportation from the airport which was smooth at a very reasonable cost. The breakfast was free and there were a lot of options. The amenities in the room where great. Free tea and coffee 24 hours was a great service also. The nice warm cookies in the evening were great. All the staff was more then friendly to assist you with anything. I booked a rent a car with enterprise and they gave me a discount because the hotel recommended it. They are about half a mile from the hotel. The spa cart was nice. They had a crib in the room as requested. Overall a great experience and I for one would go back in a heart beat. For the price I paid, I think I got more.
