Our Executive corner suite had walls of windows, with views of Space Needle from one side and water and Mt. Rainier from the other (on clear days). As another reviewer pointed out, the ongoing construction at two adjacent high-rise building sites and their cranes were a bit too intrusive and interfered with otherwise great views. However, the room was incredibly nice and comfortable. Did I already mention how clean everything was? All the 5-star amenities were included, including some interesting elements that made the room fun to explore. The staff was very responsive. This hotel seems to be geared toward tourists, not business gatherings. The lobby is small for a 5-star-rated lodging, but it is modern and functional. There is a small restaurant and a couple of small sitting areas near the front desk. I didn't see any place for a quiet chat and a drink. Internet is free and a few computers and printer are available near the front desk for guest use. The large Whole Foods on the ground floor is excellent and came in very handy. There is a Starbucks adjacent to the hotel, and a few small restaurants nearby. The area near the hotel has not yet been developed into a full-fledged tourist trap. For that, you need to walk about ten minutes to the Space Needle or toward Downtown. It is also worth walking over to lake Union, about 20 minutes from the hotel, where you can check out fabulous gas-guzzling yachts on display for sale at fire sale prices. We self-parked the car and didn't look at it again till departure a few days later. Mostly, we just walked all around the city and then took public transportation back. Some cross-town buses are free.
