“Enjoyed our Stay-Great Neighbourhood”

Salisbury House Bed & Breakfast Inn

Aug 5, 2008

My boyfriend and I went on a trip to the out west and stayed at this B&B after a 7-day cruise. This B&B is located in the Capital Hill neighborhood, which is one of our favorite areas of Seattle. Capital Hill was the sought-after place to live around the turn of the century, and it has a lot of charm to boast even today. We were very pleased with the B&B, innkeeper Cathryn made delicious healthy breakfast every morning, they were also so beautifully presented. We found it quite easy to get around taking the bus down the block from the B&B to downtown and transfer from there to other places like Museum of Flights, which was our favorite stop in Seattle. The nearby 15th Ave has all kinds of restaurants and coffee shops (we especially enjoyed the Moli Bento, a Japanese quick eatery) so even if you get in late like we did, there's still place for food within walking distance.

We thoroughly enjoyed the stay at Salisbury House and would highly recommend it.

“Beautiful, Peaceful Experience”

Salisbury House Bed & Breakfast Inn

Jul 17, 2008

My wife and I stayed here three nights during a visit to Seattle. The inn is beautiful and very well cared for. Our room (the blue room) was relatively small, but the bathroom was spacious and the private balcony was very nice. (However, the sun porch, which all guests can access, was even nicer.)

Breakfasts were great. Twice we had fresh strawberries that the innkeeper had picked the previous day. Since breakfast is served anytime during a 90-minute period, we ended up having private breakfasts each day.

The inn is just a block from a bus stop, so you can easily get to downtown, Pike Place Market, and Pioneer Square for just $1.50 one way. Volunteer Park is also any easy walk up the street.

The innkeeper and staff were very gracious and helpful with information about the city. The inn's library has an extensive array of tourism guidebooks, along with each day's New York and Seattle papers.

The only negative I can think of is that the inn is on a flight path for the SeaTac airport. Free earplugs were provided, but we didn't need them.

“A very nice B&B”

A beautiful neighborhood and beautiful home. I loved Seattle and staying at this B&B definitely added to my experience of the city. Such a lovely neighborhood and Volunteer Park is just down the street with a wonderful conservatory. With so much to do in Seattle and this being my first time to the city I wouldn't have visited this area if it had not been where I was staying and I'm glad I didn't miss it. The house is a nicely kept historic home and the Lavender room is quite spacious for a B&B, in my experience. Breakfast was good, but even for a person who doesn't eat a ton, left me a bit hungry by mid-morning. Cathy also helped us make the best of a bad weather day by suggesting a nice driving trip which quickly took us to the sunshine:)

“Our favorite in Seattle.”

My wife and I have stayed at Salisbury House a number of times over the years and it gets better every time. They recently replaced all the bathroom floors with traditional tile and upgraded fixtures. In celebration of our wedding anniversary, we spent a night in a downtown Seattle hotel and a night a Salisbury House. Our night at the B&B was a much better value; after paying for parking, room tax, and breakfast our stay in the hotel came to over $300. In the future I think we'll opt for the quieter (a large library and no televisions) but still convient to downtown Capitol Hill location of Salisbury House.

“Wish this was my house!”

Salisbury House Bed & Breakfast Inn

We stayed 3 nights at Salisbury House. The house is huge and beautiful and located in a fantastic residential area of Seattle. We stayed in the suite which has a separate entrance. The suite was relatively expensive for a B and B but quiet, large, clean and comfortable with a separate living area and jacuzzi bath. We liked the quirky area around the B and B and ate one night in a local Italian which was good. We felt safe walking around the area near the B and B and it was easy to get a bus into Seattle. My only personal disappointment was that there was no choice for breakfast. I absolutely loved Seattle as a city particularly the Pike Market.
