Portsmouth is a quaint, yet upscale seacoast town. Part of it's charm comes from the fact that is is still a working port! Fishing boats and small cruise ships still go in and out of Portsmouth Harbor daily. Seafood is is always #1 for anyone visiting this city, but they have their share of international cuisine as well. You can get anything from Thai to French to Northern Italian. They even have a sushi place or 3!
The main area for restaurants is in and around Market Square, but if you wander off the beaten path a bit you will run into some wonderful hidden jewels that the locals have known about for years!
